The topic of friendship runs deep throughout Gilmore Girls. This is mainly because Lorelai and Rory are more than just mother and daughter, they are best friends. Everything in their lives comes second to each other. And while they had best friends outside of each other, there was nothing like their bond.

Over on Reddit, fans agree that it's not just Rory and Lorelai they wanted to be friends with, there's also a plethora of friend groups that would be just as exciting and thrilling to fictionally be around. Paris would add witty remarks to every conversation, Sookie would be a great person to vent to, and Hep Alien would always be the life of the party. Stars Hollow is full of amazing friends.

Emily & Richard's Country Club Crew

Richard and Emily wouldn't be fans' number one pick as best friends, according to a fun poll on Reddit, but they wouldn't be the worst people to hang out with. For starters, the Gilmores are light-hearted and free when they're with their friends, and aren't the same stuffy people they are at Friday night dinners.

Richard and Emily had some bad parenting moments with Lorelai, but they're different when they're around those who aren't family. And let's not forget that the Gilmores love a cocktail, have friends in high places, and have the means to vacation anywhere in the world. Who wouldn't want to tag along?

The Life & Death Brigade

The Life & Death Brigade is a secret society at Yale, home to the elite and privileged. Rory judged the group for a long time before she started dating Logan and realized that she actually didn't mind them.

In the reboot, A Year in the Life, the L&DB made an unrealistic return to Stars Hollow, but it looks like Rory isn't the only outsider who enjoyed their antics. YellWho told Reddit that they wouldn't mind being friends with the group because they're "whimsical, fun, and know how to live it up."

Paris, Madeline, & Louise

Before there was Paris and Rory, there was Paris, Louise, and Madeline. The three students were part of the popular circle when Rory first arrived and they had their differences, but their friendship somehow worked. Madeline and Louise encouraged Paris to have a social life, while Paris tried to get Madeline and Louise into college. It was one of the many reasons why fans loved Paris.

Many fans missed Louise and Madeline in later seasons, with GoldenGirl03 saying, "I missed Madeline & Louise during the later seasons and especially the revival, they were hilarious! They always reminded me of a younger version of Patty & Babette."

Hep Alien

Hep Alien was Lane's band and the members were her best friends. When Rory went off to Yale, Hep Alien was all she had and they helped her get through dark times with her mom. Even Zack went from Lane's bandmate to her husband.

Chaoticstatic told Reddit that they'd love to be friends with Hep Alien because of Gil. "Or more accurately, [Gil] and his wife. We can talk classic rock and parenting!" the fan said.

Babette, Miss Patty, & Kirk

While the earlier episodes with Kirk are a little suspect regarding his background with Stars Hollow, it's later said that he grew up there and has known the likes of Babette and Miss Patty all his life.

The beauty of these three is that they're not best friends, per se, but they're always in the same area of Luke's Diner and getting into shenanigans around town. Mel_Bol said they'd choose "Miss Patty, Morey, and Babette," because of all the "stories those two could tell." Real Dreamer said that they "Love Kirk" and that he's "sweet and helpful."

The Dragonfly Inn Squad

What made the former Independence Inn so successful was the people behind it: Lorelai, Michel, and Sookie. Lorelai and Michel acted like they couldn't stand each other, but they were incredibly connected. Sookie and Lorelai, on the other hand, were a match made in heaven. But the success couldn't have been there without all three. It's one of the reasons why fans wish they could stay at the Dragonfly Inn when they opened it.

When asked who fans would pick to be friends with between Michel and Paris, WhatIsTargetting answered, "Michel. He's hilarious and knows how to have fun." JellyBean989 ironically chose Michel because of his love of "carbs."

Paris & Rory

Blaze-In-The-Sky told Reddit that not only would they want to hang out with Paris, but they'd want to hang out with Paris and Jess at the same time. "They had such a cool vibe together," they continued saying.

Out of all the friends that Rory met over the years, her friendship with Paris was one of the most surprising. Rory and Paris went from mortal enemies to practical soulmates. They encouraged each other, inspired each other, and they made each other better. It's no wonder they stayed such close friends into adulthood.

Lane & Rory

While Lane and Rory were best friends since they were kids, there were times in their lives where they weren't the best friends they could have been. However, whenever they got back together, they picked up right where they left off.

HeySandyStrange said, "I see myself getting along well with Lane. She’s bubbly, outgoing, and upbeat, without being overdone." They even compare Lane to Sookie and how they're similar friends to Lorelai and Rory.

Lorelai & Sookie

When viewers first meet Sookie, they are unfamiliar with how close she and Lorelai actually are. However, as time goes on, viewers learn that Sookie and Lorelai's friendship timeline is decades-long. The two women go to each other for everything and tell each other things that they haven't told anyone else.

Because of this, fans want to be friends with them. Guidance_Otter would love the fact that "Sookie would cook" for them and who wouldn't love a pop-culture-loving gal like Lorelai?

Rory & Lorelai

In a lot of ways, Lorelai and Rory are best friends first and parent/daughter second. With Lorelai being a teen mom when she had Rory, she treated Rory like she was her friend instead of her daughter. When Lorelai does have to pull out the mom card, Rory often doesn't know how to react.

That being said, most fans agree that being friends with both of them would be great. Shc00075 noted, "There's just something so homey about their dynamic and I'd love chilling in their house." Having movie nights with the Gilmore girls is definitely on every fan's list.
