When Rory was about to leave for her first day of school at Chilton, Lorelai wore a ridiculous outfit.
When Lorelai came down the stairs in a pink tie-dye t-shirt, jean shorts, boots, and threw a coat over it, this was definitely a scene that will always live rent-free in every fan's head. It's still hard to accept that she actually wore that and that she wasn't able to find anything else. Lorelai said her suit was still at the dry cleaner's and Rory couldn't believe what was happening. Rory's first day got off to a rough start when Headmaster Charleston wanted to meet Lorelai and he saw her outfit, proving that the Gilmore Girls are very different from the wealthy classmates who are more put together.
Dean Dumped Rory During The Dance Marathon
The season three episode "They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They?" is totally unforgettable as it was the moment when the attraction that Rory felt for Jess really came out.
During the town's dance marathon, Dean had enough of Rory's feelings for Jess and broke up with her. Fans could never stop thinking about this scene, as it meant that this couple was probably over for good. It also gave Rory permission to start dating Jess and explore that chemistry and connection.

In the third season finale "Those Are Strings, Pinocchio" Rory was Chilton's valedictorian. This was a big honor as she had such a hard time at Chilton both socially and academically at first.

They kept saying they weren't crying and eventually admitted that they couldn't help it. Luke even said that he was definitely sobbing. At the end of season four of Gilmore Girls, Rory lost her virginity to Dean. While it would have been emotional and romantic for her to experience this big moment with her first love, Dean was married to Lindsay, and so this ended up being a scandal.
