Scott Patterson recently shared a photo on Twitter with co-star Chad Michael Murray, and Gilmore Girls fans are loving it. The two actors are working together on a new TV show, Sullivan's Crossing, but they are mostly known for their roles in Gilmore Girls.
Chad Michael Murray, who played Rory's annoying classmate, only appeared for one season before going to One Tree Hill, but Scott Patterson played Luke during the seven seasons of the show. Gilmore Girls fans are always happy to see the cast working on other projects because this TV show became a great part of people's lives. Since a lot of people grew up alongside Rory and Lorelai, Gilmore Girls became one of viewers' favorite comfort shows. Even though it ended 15 years ago, fans still share memes about them on social networks all the time.
Stars Hollow Is Unhealthily Fixated On Rory
Lorelai and Rory are a deeply beloved part of the Stars Hollow community, and most characters go out of their way to help Rory in everything they can. However, other kids from the community are often ignored and neglected, like Lane or even Dean.
Maybe the reason why most people pay so much attention to Rory is that Lorelai arrived in the small town being a teenage single mom. Dave Is A Way Better Boyfriend Than Zack
Dave Rygalski was a member of Lane's band who was smart and witty and eventually became Lane's boyfriend. Their relationship was cute and wholesome, with Dave pretending to play Christian music so he could earn Lane's mother's approval due to not being Korean.
However, unfortunately, the couple broke up when Adam Brody had to leave the show to be one of the leads in The O.C. Even though an unpopular opinion about Zack on Gilmore Girls is that he's good for Lane, most people believe that he doesn't have that much in common with her, so it's disappointing that this was the actual development of the show.
Everything Was Going Well Until Jess Showed Up
No one can deny that Rory and Dean were the perfect couple in the first few seasons. They had some obstacles along the way, but they always made it work. However, Jess came along and everything went upside down, with Rory getting confused about the two boys, and Jess acting in less than ideal ways.
Even though this couple had a lot of potential, Rory and Jess end up making no sense. Jess and Rory had a very conflictive relationship, with Jess keeping secrets from her and both of them never being on the same page, which makes Jess unlikable to a lot of fans.
Rory And Dean Are The Worst Couple
Even if Rory and Dean seemed meant to be at the beginning of the show, their relationship deteriorated to the point where it became irreparable. In the season four finale, Dean cheated on his wife with Rory, who was well aware that Dean was married, a shocking twist that one saw coming from these characters.
In season four, the two characters rekindled their relationship in spite of Dean's marriage and the hurt he inflicted on Lindsay. What these two characters did was so awful that it prompted one of the biggest fights between Rory and Lorelai, making Dean and Rory the worst couple on the show.
Logan's Not Everyone Cup Of Tea
Even though Logan ended up being Rory's more relevant romantic interest, he can be hard to like. Logan always has the best intentions at heart and there's no doubt he cares deeply about Rory, but his arrogant and reckless personality can be a problem from time to time, and Paris has no issues calling him out for it.
On top of that, Logan's insecurities sometimes get the best of him, such as when he tries to provoke Jess into a fight because he's jealous of him. Furthermore, his self-sabotaging tendencies were difficult to manage, as Logan kept involving himself in high-risk activities to distance himself from his real-life responsibilities. Although Logan had some good moments, all in all, he's a character that a lot of people dislike.
Chris Is A Terrible Father
It makes sense that Rory's last name isn't Hayden because Chris was the worst father to her. Although he tried to marry Lorelai to form a family with the unexpected baby, Lorelai knew it wasn't a good decision and decided to move to Stars Hollow to raise Rory on her own.
However, Chris could have been more present in his daughter's life. Even though Chris tries to make up for his absence in Rory's childhood, he always ends up distancing himself from her, being a mostly absent figure in Rory's life. When Rory needs a reliable parent she can trust, she always thinks of Lorelai first because Chris is more of a casual friend to her than a father.
It Has Plenty Of Recurrent And One Time Characters
Gilmore Girls contained a lot of recurrent characters with their own storylines, making it common for fans to recognize members of the cast in other shows.
Sometimes, people even forget about some of the actors that participated in the show since they're so many, and a lot of them became way more famous after the show ended, including Melissa McCarthy, Milo Ventimiglia, and Sean Gunn. One of the aspects that made Gilmore Girls excellent was that it wasn't afraid to include an impressive amount of characters, providing the show with realism and richness that is not often found in other media. The people that populated Stars Hollow, like Miss Patty, Babette, or even Taylor Doose, are always going to be in the fandom's hearts.
Luke And Lorelai Are Surprisingly Perfect For Each Other
Luke and Lorelai couldn't be more different, and the show portrays this from the very first episode. Luke is a calm, solitary man who enjoys having space for himself, while Lorelai is extremely extroverted and hyperactive. Plus, the two of them constantly argue about Lorelai's terrible food habits, especially her addiction to coffee.
However, this couple proves that opposites do attract. Even though, for example, Luke hates all town events, Lorelai is a big fan, and Luke sometimes participates just to make her happy. On top of that, although Lorelai seems to have more in common with Chris, Luke is the real love of her life.
Rory And Lorelai Are Always There For Each Other
When Max and Lorelai are going to get married, Lorelai gets cold feet. She realizes Max is not the one, and she's not ready to take that big step. So, she creates a spontaneous road trip with Rory, who freaks out and asks her what's going on.
When Lorelai confesses, crying, that she will not get married to Max, Rory understands and immediately gets ready for the road trip. No one can deny Rory and Lorelai are goals for mother-daughter relationships, but still, like anyone else, they have their ups and downs. The two women are known for having the biggest fights throughout the show, from Rory wanting to take a year off from Yale and Lorelai sleeping with Christopher at the worst possible time. However, the two women's loyalty knows no bounds, and they always support each other through the most difficult times.
It's One Of The Best Comfort Shows
Gilmore Girls was one of the most important shows from the 2000s, with some of the most emblematic characters on TV. A lot of their audience finds comfort in watching their favorite characters' ups and downs, even though they've watched it a thousand times already.
There's nothing better than getting into bed with a ton of blankets and a hot beverage to start a marathon of Gilmore Girls. Even though there are a lot of amazing shows out there, Gilmore Girls fans prefer to watch this one again since Lorelai and Rory have become a part of their families.
