Season 1: Episode 9 Rory's Dance - 8.8

Lorelai is making a dress for Rory to wear to her school dance, to which Rory has invited Dean. She couldn't be more excited to go, but when her grandmother shows up at the house and insists that Dean come to the door despite their plan for him to just honk when he arrived, the evening starts with a sour taste. It doesn't get much better when Dean gets into a fight with Tristan, and then Emily and Lorelai wake up to find Rory still out from the night before.

Season 2: Episode 10 The Bracebridge Dinner - 8.7

An old fashion dinner is being planned at the Independence Inn, and the staff is preparing to dress and speak in such a way that will bring everyone back to the nineteenth century. A lot of preparation has gone into the food as well, so it's a shame when the dinner has to be canceled due to the guests being snowed in their hometown.

To avoid letting all the hard work go to waste, Lorelai decides that the dinner will continue, and everyone's family and friends will be invited!

Season 2: Episode 19 Teach Me Tonight - 8.7

Tied for the top spot in this episode, in which Jess is not doing well in school, and the principal tells Luke that he should get a tutor so that he can pass the grade. Who does Luke know that is smart enough to be a role model for Jess and patient enough to help him out? Rory of course! Not only would Rory make a great teacher, but Jess even likes her enough to listen to what she has to say. In theory, anyway. He fools around during the whole study session, and later, an ice cream run turns dangerous when they get into a car accident.

Season 2: Episode 21 Lorelai's Graduation Day - 8.7

Yet another episode of season two has an 8.7 score! Lorelai is graduating from college where she has been taking night classes to get a business degree. Before graduation, Rory decides to skip school and go to New York to see Jess. They have a great time together, and Rory finds the perfect graduation gift for her mom. Things quickly go south though when Rory hits traffic on the way back, completely missing graduation. Not only that, but she leaves the graduation present on the bus!

Season 3: Episode 7 They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? - 9.0

Things have been a bit tense for Rory lately. She can't deny the connection that she has with Jess, and they even shared a kiss over the summer. Still, they can't be together because they both are seeing someone else and are using their partners to make the other one jealous.

Things come to a head at the town's 24-hour dance marathon, where Rory is dancing, and Jess is spectating. The two bicker with each other until Dean has had enough and breaks up with Rory on the dance floor.

Season 3: Episode 22 Those Are Strings, Pinocchio - 9.0

Also in first place in season three is Rory's graduation episode, where she is valedictorian for Chilton. There are big things in store for the high school graduate, as she prepares to travel Europe with her mom over the summer and then attend Yale in the fall. Lorelai has great plans too. Not only will she be vacationing with Rory, but she and Sookie are getting even closer to opening up their very own inn, a dream that they have shared for years.

Season 4: Episode 22 Raincoats And Recipes - 9.3

The Dragonfly Inn is almost ready for its grand opening, and they are planning a test run with friends and family before opening to the public. Although Lorelai has the suspicion that her parents are no longer together, she invites the two of them to come to the test evening, giving them a private and romantic room to share. Not wanting to be rude or tell Lorelai what's really going on, Richard and Emily accept. They fight with each other, and Emily finally confirms to Lorelai that they have split.

Season 5: Episode 13 Wedding Bell Blues - 8.8

The Gilmore grandparents have reconciled, and they plan to renew their wedding vows. Lorelai is to be the maid of honor, and Rory will be Richard's best man. After hearing about her parents' first kiss where her mother decided to take charge, Rory takes matters into her own hands with Logan, kissing him "to see what it would be like."

Their intimate adventure doesn't last long though because when they sneak off together, they get interrupted by Lorelai, Christopher, and Luke.

Season 6: Episode 13 Friday Night's Alright For Fighting - 9.1

Since Rory moved out of her grandparents' house somewhat suddenly, things have been a bit strained between them. She and Lorelai show up to the first Friday night dinner in a while, and it seems like as good a time as any to rehash some issues, old and new. It starts with discussing Rory first coming to live with them, and soon Richard is yelling at Emily for almost buying a plane. They delight in eating passion fruit sorbet, argue some more, and retell some dramatic stories.

Season 7: Episode 22 Bon Voyage - 9.2

It's time for another graduation, this time from Yale. Rory is going to be a reporter on Barack Obama's campaign tour, and she's very excited. However, the town wants a chance to be able to say goodbye to her. Luke and Sookie band together to throw a party in the town square to celebrate not only Rory's accomplishments but also how great of a mother Lorelai has been. When rain threatens to ruin the event, Luke gathers the townspeople's coats and tarps and spends the entire night before the party sewing a giant tent so that the party can still go on.
