When Netflix released its revival of Gilmore Girlsit was exciting to spend more time with Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) and see what the quirky people of Stars Hollow were up to. While a lot of time had passed since the seventh season finale, Luke's Diner was still serving the best coffee and the mother/daughter pair were still chatting about everything and anything.

The major characters on Gilmore Girls grew so much during the show's seven seasons, and on A Year In The life, everyone from Luke (Scott Patterson) to Emily (Kelly Bishop) is dealing with a lot of problems. Even though fans were thrilled to see these familiar faces again, it's fair to say that some parts of the revival were super confusing.

Rory Makes The Mistake Of Dating Logan When He's Engaged

Rory lost her virginity to Dean (Jared Padelecki) when he was married and that created quite the scandal in Stars Hollow. Even though an older and more mature Rory would supposedly learn from her mistakes, she dates Logan (Matt Czuchry) in the revival when he's engaged.

This is frustrating and doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't Rory be able to tell that was a terrible idea? It seems like she might have learned from her prior experiences that this path did not end well.

Why Can't Rory Get Her Career Together?

There are many reasons that Rory is an awesome reporter, but when fans got to catch up with this beloved character in the Netflix revival, they learned a sad truth: Rory's writing career isn't exactly wonderful.

From working on a book proposal with a flighty and flaky public figure to having trouble pitching, Rory isn't faring that well in the world of journalism. Sure, she wrote a piece for The New Yorker that turned everyone's favorite grumpy diner owner into "super proud Luke" as Lorelai explains. But fans expected a lot more.

Luke And Lorelai Never Spoke About Having Children

Luke and Lorelai start thinking about using a fertility clinic to have a baby, which gives the revival the chance to bring the terrifying Paris Geller (Liza Weil) back.

But fans learn that they never really spoke about having children, and that doesn't add up at all. If they wanted a baby, why didn't they talk about it? It would have made more sense if Lorelai had trouble getting pregnant and that affected their marriage. It's strange how the show handles this crucial topic.

Lorelai Isn't Athletic So She Would Never Hike The PCT

In the episode "Fall," Lorelai has a bit of a mid-life crisis and wants to hike the PCT. While this is meant to be inspired by the book and movie Wild, it feels so wrong and weird for Lorelai.

For one thing, Lorelai isn't fit or athletic at all. She'll go for a walk, sure... but only if it's snowing and pretty, or only if she can grab coffee and donut along the way. If Lorelai needed some time away, it would make more sense for her to stay in a hotel overnight or something like that.

Lorelai And Sookie Have No Relationship Now

While it's fun to see Sookie in the revival, it's definitely true that Lorelai and her best friend seem to have absolutely zero relationship now.

Sure, fans know that Melissa McCarthy is a huge movie star now and that this was all about scheduling, but it seemed like the two characters barely spoke to each other. Sookie might have worsened over time but fans still wanted to see these two BFFs hanging out.

How Does Rory Afford Everything?

Emily and Rory in Gilmore Girls Revival

Rory can sometimes be sympathetic and yet that isn't really the case in the revival. She seems to be able to pay for anything and everything that she wants, and it's really confusing.

Rory pays rent for an apartment that she doesn't even seem to ever live in, and she eventually gives it up, but that still leaves the issue of how she flies to London constantly to see Logan. It's true that her grandparents have a lot of money but why would they hand over cash for plane rides when she's an adult who should be supporting herself?

Rory And Lorelai's Mean Comments

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life - summer

The "Summer" episode of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life is super rough to watch as the mom and daughter duo hang out at the pool and fat shame some people who walk by.

This isn't the right thing to do, and these characters should know better. It doesn't add up that Lorelai and Rory, who always have movie nights with junk food and don't seem into healthy eating or exercise, would have anything negative to say about other people's appearances.

Rory Works On The Stars Hollow Newspaper

Does the newspaper in Stars Hollow even have money to pay Rory when she takes it over? Would the town paper even still exist?

There are a lot of questions about this aspect of the revival story. Sure, Rory wants to hang around her hometown for a bit, but she could make a go of her freelance writing career instead of trying to save a paper that doesn't have much hope of surviving. This was an unrealistic storyline, as Rory wasn't going to stay in Stars Hollow forever.

Rory Literally Forgets She's Dating Someone

Even those on Team Jess, Team Dean, or Team Logan have to admit that it's weird that Rory forgets about Paul (Jack Carpenter), the guy she has been dating for a little while.

This is meant to be funny, but it comes off as cold and cruel. Rory should have broken up with Paul ages ago if she didn't have real feelings for him. Is it really possible to forget that someone exists? Rory not only forgets he's coming over for dinner, but she also doesn't seem to be in touch with him very often, and she even forgets him while he's sitting in Luke's Diner. This isn't like nice, polite Rory.

Did Rory Want To Get Pregnant?

Lorelai has a difficult time with her mom and dad and she was always worried about Rory getting pregnant in high school and facing the same types of problems that she did.

At the end of the Netflix revival, Rory and Lorelai say those famous final four words that fans had been curious about. When Rory asks "Mom?" and Lorelai asks, "Yeah?" Rory replies "I'm pregnant." Everyone watching gasped, and it brought up a good question: did Rory want to get pregnant? It didn't seem like the right time in her life for her to become pregnant, as she was struggling in her career and single. And if it was Logan's baby, he was going to marry someone else, so fans weren't sure how to feel about this storyline.
