Episode 5 of Fox's new series The Gifted, "boXed in" saw both the Mutant Underground and Sentinel Services engage in increasingly hostile tactics to keep their side safe. Agent Turner (Coby Bell) called for the rounding up of all mutants, even those not involved in the Underground. In retaliation, Polaris (Emma Dumont) and Eclipse (Sean Teale) kidnap Turner, hoping to find out information about what made their old friend Pulse (Zach Roerig) turn on his fellow mutants.

This was the first episode since the premiere that saw both Reed (Stephen Moyer) and Polaris back with their loved ones after breaking out of prison in episode 4. And with some time in the car on the run from Sentinel Services, Polaris and Eclipse are given an opportunity to talk for the first time about their relationship - and their unborn child. It was revealed in the premiere episode that Polaris was pregnant, something that will affect both her and Eclipse going forward. The two discuss their excitement and trepidation about bringing a child into the world, and also try coming up with some potential baby names. But what's in a name?

Polaris tells Eclipse, "If it's a girl we should call her Aurora." The name is a cute nod to the early days of their relationship as seen in the flashback from episode 2 where the couple's powers combined to form a mini aurora borealis, but the connection doesn't stop there. Aurora is also the name of a comic book character who first appeared in Uncanny X-Men. She is a member of the X-Men as well as the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight. Aurora (real name Jeanne-Marie) has the power of flight, as well as super speed, endurance, and stamina. Together with her twin brother Northstar (real name Jean-Paul), she has the ability to emit a blinding white light - which sounds pretty similar to Eclipse's powers on The Gifted.

In the comics, Aurora and her brother are separated at birth after the death of their parents. Northstar is adopted by a family, while Aurora is raised in a school for girls. With Eclipse and Polaris constantly on the run, there really isn't room for a baby in their lives, and leaving their child in a safe place like a school or putting her (or him) up for adoption might be the only way to keep the baby safe. The Aurora name-drop could be just a fun Easter egg for X-Men fans, or it could be a hint at what's to come.

For now, Polaris and Eclipse just seem happy to be back together and to be having a baby at all. These touching character moments are what make The Gifted so special; in the midst of all the fighting, there are scenes with two characters talking about their love for each other and their future.
