The stars of CBS's Ghosts tease new arcs for their characters in season 2. Based on the British comedy series of the same name, the sitcom centers on married New Yorkers Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay Arondekar (Utkarsh Ambudkar) as they inherit and move into a picturesque country house, only to realize that it is inhabited by the spirits of those who died on the property. While Jay cannot see or hear the ghosts, a near-death experience allows Samantha to interact with them, often forcing her to help resolve their post-existential crises. The show earned rave reviews from critics and fans, particularly for its charming and diverse cast, and it also proved to be a ratings success. As a result, CBS was quick to renew Ghosts for season 2.

Now, in an interview with Collider, Ghosts cast members Richie Moriarty, Sheila Carrasco, and Román Zaragoza teased what's next for their characters Pete, Flower, and Sass in season 2. As the stars explained, the new season will see Pete use his travel agent expertise to help out Samantha and Jay with their Bed & Breakfast business, while Flower will begin to show a bit more of her opinionated side, which viewers glimpsed in the season 1 episode "Ghostwriter." As for Sass, his penchant for drama and reality shows will peak, presumably spelling trouble for those around him. Read what the actors said about their season 2 arcs below.

Moriarty: One thing that we learn about Pete is that he was a travel agent, which is a very weird, specific about his past life, and there is more travel agent stuff in Season 2 because he now lives in a Bed & Breakfast, and he spent years booking people in hotels and Bed & Breakfasts, so we’ll see some of his knowledge come into play in Season 2.

Carrasco: I think with the Ghost Writer episode about the basketball story with Pete and Flower, we got to see some of Flower’s judgy side and I’m having fun exploring more of that side in Season 2. She has more opinions that she can share.

Zaragoza: I love how Sass loves drama and he loves reality shows and I think there’s definitely more there to dive into.

The Ghosts assemble in the Kitchen in CBS Ghosts

Pete, Flower, and Sass are some of the most amusing characters in Ghosts. Initially, it seemed that they were very one-dimensional and simplistic, but as the show progressed, their multi-faceted personalities began to manifest, intriguing viewers and getting them emotionally and psychologically invested in the show. Since Ghosts has such a large ensemble, it could only scratch the surface with these characters in season 1, although it still managed to set them up for larger arcs in the future. Now it seems that season 2 will leverage the opportunity to explore the characters further, unraveling their complexities and interests and allowing them to embrace some character evolution as they learn more about their immortal existence.
