The pixel-art title Ghosts'n DJs has received a new trailer and a release date in February. The title is a side-scrolling run and gun platformer that features the music of electronic artists Dr.Kucho! and deadmau5.

Ghosts'n DJs is heavily inspired by the the classic arcade game Ghosts'n Goblins and its story features a satirical take on the music industry. The game is set in a parallel universe in which the music industry is populated with insincere musical artists that value money rather than the quality of their music. Players will don deadmau5's iconic mask to grant themselves the ability to fight against these fake DJs. Ghosts'n DJs also features fictionalized versions of actual musicians as the creatures that must be fought against and have joking names like Steve Karaoke, Devil Goata, and Paul Douchebag.

The trailer was posted on Dr Kucho! Games' official YouTube channel earlier today. The trailer features the player character beginning the game by donning deadmau5's mask after having a conversation about how the music industry has been destroyed. Players then are able to run through the environment while killing everything that is in their path. It seems as though players will have access to weapons like a rainbow cat and CDs that can be thrown. Ghosts'n DJs will also feature brand new music from deadmau5. These new tracks are called "Polaris", "4Ware", and "GG" and will be exclusive for the game.

The new title releases February 6th on Steam and will be free to all users. Instead of paying for the game, players can instead make donations to charities like Gamers Outreach and TheRockinR, which both help provide video games to children that have been hospitalized. The charities that players can donate to have been active in the gaming community for quite some time. Gamers Outreach has been working in the US since 2007. They specialize in making sure hospitals are equipped with accessible technology for children. TheRockinR on the other hand was founded in the UK in 2017 and based its name off the gamertag of Reece, a child who died from brain cancer. TheRockinR provides what they refer to as "Medical Gaming Carts" to hospitals in order to help distract children from the stresses of being in a hospital.

Ghosts'n DJs seems like it will wind up being a very interesting indie game for players to download. As a free game players and fans of deadmau5 should be very excited with the amount of content and music the title will be offering. It is nice to see people like Dr. Kucho! and deadmau5 using their influence to gain attention for charity rather than collecting profit for themselves. Players should be extremely excited to see what Ghosts'n DJs will bring to the table when it releases next month.
