Sigourney Weaver, star of the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife, recently shared her reaction to the upcoming movie. Afterlife is coming to theaters this year after being delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It comes 32 years after the second movie in the original series, and will be directed by Jason Reitman, the son of the original films' director. Afterlife is also following the 2016 reboot of the series that did not do well, but this one will be a canonical sequel. Weaver also starred in both of the previous films, and will not be the only returning cast member.

Set 30 years after Ghostbusters 2Ghostbusters: Afterlife follows a family moving to a small town in Oklahoma where they discover their connections to the original team of Ghostbusters. The mother, Callie (played by Carrie Coon), is the daughter of Egon Spengler (played in the originals by the late Harold Ramis). In the small town, her children Phoebe and Trevor (played by McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard) have to deal with the discovery of their lineage and the paranormal threats upon their new hometown. The movie also stars Paul Rudd, Tracy Letts, Logan Kim, and Celeste O'Connor. Afterlife will also see the return of Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, and Weaver as their characters from the previous films.

Fans will definitely appreciate what Weaver has to say about the film. Since the 2016 reboot was not received well, there has been a desire for a true continuation of the iconic franchise. With the son of the original director behind the camera, it will hopefully deliver what fans were looking for. The original two are known for being great comedy films, so it is definitely reassuring to hear an original star point out the comedy in Afterlife. Weaver also talked about how it is full of heart and is charming, which are other aspects of the previous films that made them so much fun to watch. The dynamic with the cast and the fun plot made them feel like enjoyable watches, especially since it has been so long since Ghostbusters 2.

Sigourney Weaver seems to be quite excited for this upcoming Ghostbusters movie. It will hopefully give the fans a great experience and make the multiple delays worth the wait. If Weaver's comments are anything to go off of, Ghostbusters: Afterlife will definitely deliver when it hits theaters this November.
