Hasbro will release new Ghostbusters: Afterlife Mini-Puft toys that are both cute and horrifying. The lineup of figures, officially titled, "Ghostbusters: Mini-Pufts Surprise," is inspired by the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, who appeared first in the original 1985 Ghostbusters movie. The character has since become iconic to the franchise, and pop culture, appearing on a wide assortment of merchandise inspired by the franchise.

One of the most memorable moments in the beloved supernatural title is the introduction of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. As the Ghostbusters fought the demonic Gozer, Stay-Puft began a rampage through the streets of New York. Taller than skyscrapers and fully reveling in the destruction he was causing, Stay-Puft has long-since cemented himself as a very difficult movie monster to top. That's not to say that efforts weren't made to present an equally appealing antagonist in the subsequent Ghostbusters movies, or the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. However, Stay-Puft remains the baddie most associated with the franchise.

Hasbro is gearing up to release a line of toys inspired by the Mini-Pufts, who audiences first saw giving Paul Rudd a difficult time at the store in the latest clip from Ghostbusters: Afterlife. As fans can see, the series of figures, which will stand at 1.5 inches tall, be priced at $5.39 each, and "come equipped with new mischievous personalities from the movie," Bloody-Disgusting reports. According to the outlet, the announcement teases some "goopy" goodness to be had:

Choose the smallest, most collectible method of your destruction with the Ghostbusters Mini-Pufts Surprise figures from Hasbro. Detailed to look like characters from the 2021 Ghostbusters: Afterlife film, each series of 1.5-inch Mini-Puft figures is inspired by the original Stay Puft Marshmallow Man but comes equipped with new mischievous personalities from the movie. Kids and collectors alike can open the Stay Puft Marshmallow can and dig into the goopy marshmallow-like compound to see which Mini-Puft figure is inside.

The notion of tiny monster toys being available to consumers, in a canister full of marshmallow goo, brings to mind some of the messier toys to hit the shelves, like Nickelodeon's gooey Gak and the fun, yet creepy, Madballs, which originally came out in the 1980s and '90s. The variety of personalities and poses add a fun collectible quality to the Ghostbusters: Afterlife toys. Considering the Mini-Pufts will be suitable for ages 4 and up, these little mischief-makers will appeal to die-hard Ghostbusters fans, both young and old.

If there’s a downside to Hasbro’s new Ghostbusters: Afterlife Mini-Pufts toys, it’s that they seem to be lacking any sort of intricate detail in their design. Some of the figures pictured above almost look like basic prototype models, awaiting a finishing coat of paint. Perhaps collectors and fans will overlook this drawback and, instead, focus on the variety of figurines that will be available. After all, the process of unearthing these toys from their marshmallowy goop sounds like a fun and unique way to celebrate another one of Ghostbusters' greatest characters.
