With her hilarious, heartfelt, and critically acclaimed performance as Phoebe Spengler, Mckenna Grace has become the breakout star of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Her next movie project is Crater, a sci-fi coming-of-age adventure set to premiere on Disney+.

It stars Billy Barratt as a boy who was raised in a lunar mining colony. After his father’s death forces him to relocate to another planet, he goes on an adventure to explore a mysterious crater with his best friends. Carrie Coon gave a terrific performance as a sardonic single mother in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Her next project will see her appearing on the small screen. The Gilded Age is the new period drama series from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

Set in New York City in the 1880s, The Gilded Age was originally developed for NBC in 2018. It’ll finally premiere on its new network home, HBO, on January 24, 2022. Coon will co-star alongside Christine Baranski and Taissa Farmiga.

She’ll next be seen alongside Florence Pugh, Molly Shannon, and Morgan Freeman in Zach Braff’s upcoming drama A Good Person. Pugh stars as a woman who, years after surviving a deadly accident, forges an unlikely bond with her would-be father-in-law.

Annie Potts only reprised her Ghostbusters role briefly in Afterlife to provide some exposition about the “dirt farmer” that Egon was known as toward the end of his life. But it was still fun to see her back on-screen in this universe.

These days, Potts’ best-known role is “Meemaw” in The Big Bang Theory’s prequel spin-off Young Sheldon. Earlier this year, CBS renewed the show for its fifth, sixth, and seventh seasons. Season 5 premiered in October, while the others will air in due time.

Sigourney Weaver - Avatar 2 (December 16, 2022)

At the end of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, some fans feared Sigourney Weaver’s scenes had been cut – and then Dana showed up in the post-credits scene, using Venkman’s own clairvoyance trick against him. Weaver is set to reprise another previous role, Dr. Grace Augustine, in James Cameron’s upcoming Avatar sequel.

A live-action Halo adaptation has been in development for years. Pablo Schreiber will star as Master Chief in the series, which is set to premiere on Paramount+ in early 2022.

Bill Murray - Asteroid City (TBD)

Bill Murray has appeared in every Wes Anderson movie since his second directorial effort, Rushmore, so it’s hardly surprising that he’s joined the sprawling ensemble cast of Anderson’s latest opus, Asteroid City.

The plot is being kept under wraps, but the movie is shooting in Spain and it’s expected to be released sometime in 2022. Murray will star alongside fellow regular Anderson collaborators Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, and his Rushmore co-star Jason Schwartzman.
