A Ghost of Tsushima glitch sees protagonist Jin Sakai kick a Mongol off a cliff, only for the enemy to bounce back up the entire way. The game's engrossing combat system of stances, attack chains, evasive maneuvers, and, of course, kicks, has received great praise from fans since its release on the PS4 last year. These fans continue to make new discoveries in the game ahead of the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, which includes the Iki Island expansion.

Players have discovered a number of game-changing glitches in Ghost of Tsushima, both minor and significant. Last year, a so-called "infinite sword glitch" was found which deals constant damage to entities around the player. Other glitches offer more helpful utility, like an infinite resources glitch which players can access almost immediately in the first region of the game. Sucker Punch Productions, like many game studios, often patches its game to address minor bugs and issues; one recent example was when it rebalanced loot drops for The Tale of Iyo raid.

Reddit user MrBlack87 has posted several videos of a new combat glitch. The encounter begins with Jin blocking sword blows from a Mongolian Swordsman. The protagonist finds an opening to perform a Typhoon Kick, sending the enemy swordsman off the side of a cliff to the rocks below. Rather than stay down, however, the enemy bounces back in the opposite direction, defying gravity as he soars through the air parallel to the cliff and lands stomach-first on the ground in-front of Jin. To the warrior's credit, he stands up immediately to continue fighting, only to fall back over just as quickly, dead. The glitch comes as a hilarious surprise in a game with an otherwise serious story, similar to the horrifying Tsushima bath glitch discovered last year.

Glitches or exploits in open-world games make for a popular topic among fans, who often take to Reddit forums to share and laugh about their discoveries. MrBlack87's glitch and others like it have become a part of the fandom, and a positive symptom of the game's success alongside. For a combat system that took six years to perfect and has earned its praise, glitches like kicking an enemy into a reverse-gravity plummet provides a different sort of entertainment than engaging with the game in a more serious way. Since release, Sucker Punch Productions' game has reached $6.5 million in sales, won several awards, and even has a movie inbound featuring the director of John Wick. Fans also have Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut to look forward to, now available for pre-load for those who preordered it. Director's Cut brings a new location and story for Jin to explore, which includes new enemies to fight, abilities to unlock, and more.

As upcoming Ghost Of Tsushima projects continue making headlines in the gaming news world, the fans have effectively created their own buzz through the discoveries they make in-game. Glitches like this bizarre reverse-gravity fall show a different, unintentional side of the game which is nonetheless very entertaining for fans of Ghost of Tsushima.
