While Ghost of Tsushima is justifiably receiving praise as a beautiful game, one fan has discovered a glitch that creates one of the most ugly moments imaginable during a bathing scene with protagonist Jin. Ghost of Tsushima is developer Sucker Punch's new IP and continues that studio's tradition of delivering compelling, visually-pleasing gameplay wrapped in a narrative that delivers poignant moments.

Anticipation for Ghost of Tsushima was high since its announcement in 2017, but it's becoming fairly clear that the game is likely surpassing expectations from both Sucker Punch and Sony itself. The evidence is in the game's sales, which, despite not matching The Last of Us Part 2's gaudy numbers, were strong - and actually resulted in Ghost of Tsushima selling out in Japan in select locations. That doesn't happen often when it comes to console games in Japan, and even if Sony allocated physical copies at a fairly low rate, the game surpassing sales expectation there is a testament to its quality, and the way it has resonated with Japanese fans as well.

One of the game's biggest draws is the way it sculpts its world with gorgeous attention to detail - but that's been challenged by a particular Ghost of Tsushima bathing glitch discovered by a player who then posted it to Reddit. The user, /u/jttattoo, posted a short 17 second clip to the game's subreddit that shows Jin getting ready to bathe the way he normally does. Then, horror strikes, as Jin folds the lower half of his body up into his upper half, resulting in a very uncomfortable looking bath that looks more like a method of torture than a means of relaxation.

The glitch is also notable because it still manages to showcase another talking point of Jin's character model - that is, the warrior's rear-end, which has become a talking point thanks to actor Daisuke Tsuji's reaction to his own butt. While this particular depiction probably isn't the most flattering, it's important to clarify that in no way is the glitch horrifying because of any specific body part looking bad - more that they look terrifyingly uncomfortable.

With so much praised being lauded on Ghost of Tsushima, it's nice to see a classic glitch return to one of the biggest releases of the year and provide fans with some humor. Even the best games aren't perfect and, with online communities willing to embrace the flaws of whichever title they're fans of, the imperfections can be just as enjoyable as a flawless execution of one of the game's most exciting mechanics.
