Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character Ghost Rider probably survived Thanos' snap, according to the actor who portrayed him. In Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers failed to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones, which gave him the ultimate power to destroy half of the universe's population with a simple snap of his fingers. That snap left the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in shambles, with many of its characters fading away into nothing more than ash.

Thanos' act left many Marvel fans wondering exactly who survived the snap. Although some of the Avengers' deaths were captured onscreen (including the emotional death of Spider-Man), others were left to conjecture. For example, fans weren't entirely sure Shuri was dead, at least not until Marvel confirmed it with its "Avenge the Fallen" posters, which showed Shuri's face in black and white, an indication that she was one of the fallen. However, the fates of other characters in the MCU, including those from Marvel television shows, were left hanging in the air. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. all but ignored the Thanos storyline, instead opting to follow its own path. That still didn't stop fans from questioning who from that show survived or would survive the snap.

One of those characters who probably survived is Ghost Rider, who appeared in season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Gabriel Luna, the actor who portrayed him, told ComicBook.com  that because Ghost Rider is already technically dead, Thanos couldn't have killed him. He said, "Hey, I'm already dead bro. I can't die again. [Thanos] can't touch me."

Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Finale Ghost Rider

On Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Ghost Rider disappeared after he took the Darkhold and opened an inter-dimensional gate to Hell and stepped inside. That means he's still in there, somewhere, suggesting that his character could reappear on the series. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could go on with several more seasons, at least according to its showrunner, so that's plenty of time to bring Ghost Rider back into the fray - perhaps even in the upcoming season 6.

In the meantime, the Avengers will go up against Thanos once more in Avengers: Endgame, which will help bring the story of Thanos and his snap to an end. It also marks the beginning of the end of Phase 3 of the MCU, with only one more Phase 3 movie to follow: Spider-Man: Far From Home. After that, what happens in the MCU is anyone's guess, but it's likely that Marvel has a solid plan in place to carry its cinematic universe into its next chapter.
