To celebrate Ghost Of Tsushima’s first anniversary, developer Sucker Punch is bringing back the game’s alternate DLC costumes based on characters from other hit PlayStation titles like 2018’s God Of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. These cross-promotional alternate armors were previously made available back in December, but only for the limited time of a few short weeks.

Ghost Of Tsushima was well regarded by players and critics alike as both a love letter to old Japanese samurai movies and a swan song for the ageing PS4, earning multiple Game Of The Year awards and reaching blockbuster sales figures after it launched last July. In the year that followed, players have engaged in roughly 333 million duels with samurai warrior Jin Sakai in addition to countless combined hours petting foxes, riding horses, and writing deep Haikus amid the lush backdrop of the Japanese island of Tsushima as they battled against the invading Mongolian Empire.

Now they can continue these activities in style, as Sucker Punch recently announced that it is bringing back the limited-edition Ghost Of Tsushima PlayStation DLC costumes on Twitter a couple of days ago. These alternate get-ups are inspired by God Of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow Of The Colossus, and Bloodborne, and can be unlocked by completing any Legends Story or Survival Mode mission with each multiplayer class.

Ghost Of Tsushima fans will have even more to celebrate before long, as the PS5-enhanced Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut is set to launch in August. In addition to the expectedly beefed-up graphics and added DualSense functionality, the Director’s Cut features extra story content in the Iki Island expansion, which includes a whole new island for players to explore, new enemy types, and even a brand-new combat stance. The bad news is that fans will have to pay for the update and new content in sharp contrast to games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and The Last Of Us Part 2, but it’s still very exciting for players looking to jump back into action with Jin.

Ghost Of Tsushima’s alternate PlayStation costumes were an awesome form of cross-promotion when they were first released last winter, so making them available again to commemorate the game's first anniversary is a pretty neat move on Sucker Punch’s part. Now players will be able to sneak into battle wearing the colors of Kratos or Aloy while they wait for Ghost Of Tsushima: Director’s Cut next month.
