There's a new, rare material in Stardew Valley players can only get from rare enemies. Since its inception in 2016, Stardew Valley has become a critical and commercial success, with over 10 million copies sold as of 2020. In Stardew Valley, players take the role of a character who has been given the responsibility of maintaining their late grandfather's farm. Players will need to participate in farming activities of all kinds and can socialize with the other NPC townspeople in the area. Because Stardew Valley is also a roleplaying game, players can explore caves and mine ore and combat different enemies. One new enemy has been introduced with patch 1.5, which only just rolled out for PC players and won't be available for console players until later this month. The creature, known as a Prismatic Slime, drops a rare and valuable material called Prismatic Jelly.

In the new patch, the Wizard will request Prismatic Jelly on the Special Orders board, without telling players where or how to get it. It is worth picking up as much of this rare goop as possible because this quest comes with excellent rewards. Players can only find the Prismatic Slime creatures when a Wizard's special order quest has been accepted, and they are not set to a specific location, making them generally more difficult to find if players don't know what to look for. Here's how to get Prismatic Jelly in Stardew Valley.

How to Get Prismatic Jelly in Stardew Valley

A player finds Prismatic Slime on one of the floors of the mountain mine in Stardew Valley

Upon accepting the Wizard's special order and receiving the quest, players will need to head to the mountain mines. While the Prismatic Slimes can spawn on any floor, they are most likely to appear between levels 95 and 115. It is important to have access to level 115 before accepting the quest to make sure players can find and successfully defeat the Prismatic Slimes. Players can also find some Prismatic Slimes in Skull Cavern.

Players will know a Prismatic Slime when they see it. It looks like a typical Slime, but it moves faster and changes color slowly. Prismatic Slimes will even appear if the mine has been set to "dangerous" mode.

The Prismatic Slimes don't have a set location, so players who can't find any may have better luck refreshing one or two of the floors repeatedly until one spawns. It may also help to zoom out the resolution and screen as far as possible to see the entire floor at once and figure out if a Prismatic Slime has appeared.

Night Market from Stardew Valley

Players will need to fight and defeat the Prismatic Slime to obtain the Jelly. Right now, Prismatic Jelly is a 100% guaranteed drop from a defeated Prismatic Slime. Players can use the new local split-screen feature to take on these enemies with friends and make the process of hunting them more fun.

The Wizard's quest has a time limit, so players will need to complete the task within 7 days. For this reason, it is important to search as efficiently as possible. Upon completion, the Wizard will give players 5,000g and either a mini-obelisk or monster musk recipe. Players may be able to complete this quest twice to earn double the rewards and get both recipes.
