The Gym Rat Badge in NBA 2K22 increases the stats of any player who has it equipped. The Gym Rat Badge gives those players a permanent boost to their attributes and removes any need for them to work out. Like all badges, the Gym Rat Badge plays a critical role in developing the best squad for the NBA 2K22 MyCareer campaign. Without the Gym Rat Badge, improving players' attributes will require them to follow a stricter training schedule - as though they're really part of the NBA.

The Gym Rat badge is one of the many badges in NBA 2K22. Acquiring the Gym Rat badge is a different process on last-generation and current-generation systems; the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have their own method that differs from Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC. Last-generation players are going to have a slightly more difficult time acquiring the Gym Rat Badge, but once obtained, the badge will provide the same benefits.

One of the downsides of NBA 2K22 on last-generation systems is that it lacks some of the features included with the current-generation systems. To unlock the Gym Rat Badge, last-generation players need to win an NBA Championship. Like the returning Auction House feature in NBA 2K22, playing through the career mode to complete this task will feel familiar to those who have played past NBA 2K games. After earning a spot as a team starter, players can simulate their games instead of playing in every match manually. This can cut down some of the time it takes to play, but players will have a little less control over what happens game to game.

NBA 2K22: How To Get The Gym Rat Badge

NBA 2K22 Every Finishing Badge

Current-generation NBA 2K22 has some great new features for players that involve exploring an open city and completing city quests. There is a quest attached to the Gym Rat Badge on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S called "Gym Rat." In the quest, players will have to routinely visit the Gatorade Gym. They complete the quest by finishing 50 three-star workouts. Since there is a limit to how many workouts can be completed in a week, finishing badges in NBA 2K22 are technically easier to unlock than the Gym Rat Badge.

Unfortunately, the standard gym allows players to complete a maximum of five different workouts every in-game week, making it impossible to finish the Gym Rat Badge quest in fewer than 10 weeks of training. This is where the Gatorade Sports Science Institution in NBA 2K22 becomes a valuable asset, as the workouts there do not count toward the five-a-week limit. It's a fairly straightforward workout; players must simply move the cursor in the specific directions fast enough to earn 16 points, which awards a three-star completion.
