Eevee is one of the most recognizable Pokémon in the franchise, thanks to its many Eeveelutions, and players will be able to find most of them in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. With its unique ability to evolve into Pokémon of multiple different types, Eevee is one of the most versatile Pokémon in the game, as well as an all-around fan favorite. Each of its Eeveelutions are some of the strongest Pokémon of their type and can excel on competitive teams and casual play.

Eevee can be caught in the Pokémon Mansion's Trophy Garden after players obtain the National Pokédex, but it won't appear there every day. Mr. Backlot will inform trainers about which Pokémon can be found in the garden that day when they speak to him in his office. However, trainers can also get an Eevee by speaking to Bebe in Hearthome City once they've unlocked the National Pokédex. Her house is the one on the right side of the Pokémon Center. Players can visit the Trophy Garden or breed Bebe's Eevee with a Ditto at the Pokémon Nursery in Solaceon Town to get more than one Eevee.

However, since none of the Eeveelutions can be caught in the wild, they must be evolved from Eevee to add them to the National Dex. Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl uses the original Gen IV National Dex from Diamond & Pearl, so there are 7 Eeveelutions in the game, including Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. Unfortunately, since Sylveon wasn't added to the series until the introduction of Fairy-type Pokémon in Gen V, it is not available in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

How To Get Vaporeon In Pokémon BDSP

Vaporeon evolves when players use a Water Stone on Eevee in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

The Water-type Eeveelution, Vaporeon, is one of the first three Eeveelutions introduced in Gen I. Players will be able to get this Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl by using a Water Stone on Eevee. Water Stones can be found while digging for treasure in Sinnoh's Grand Underground, but there are also two that can be found on Route 213 and Route 230 in the Sinnoh overworld. Vaporeon is considered one of the stronger Eeveelutions since it has the highest HP stat of the bunch.

How To Get Jolteon In Pokémon BDSP

Pokémon BDSP Best Competitive Electric-Type Jolteon

Jolteon is Eevee's Electric-type evolution, and this Pokémon can be evolved by giving Eevee a Thunder Stone. Like Water Stones, Thunder Stones can be found while mining in Sinnoh's Grand Underground, but players will also be able to find one behind the Lighthouse in Sunyshore City. Jolteon has a vast move pool and the ability to deal a massive amount of damage, and it has the highest speed stat of any of the Eeveelutions.

How To Get Flareon In Pokémon BDSP

Flareon evolves when trainers use a Fire Stone on Eevee in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Eevee's Fire-type evolution, Flareon, is the last Eeveelutions introduced in Gen I. To get Eevee to evolve into Flareon, trainers have to give it a Fire Stone, and while these can be found in the Grand Underground like the other Evolution Stones, there's also one lying on the floor in the Fuego Ironworks north of Route 205. Flareon is sometimes considered one of the worse Eeveelutions, but its high attack stat gives it great potential as a physical sweeper.

How To Get Espeon In Pokémon BDSP

Espeon in the Pokémon anime

Two more Eeveelutions joined the franchise in Generation II, including the Psychic-type Espeon. Unlike Gen I's previous Eeveelutions, Espeon will only evolve once its friendship stat is raised enough during the day. Of course, this depends on the Switch's in-game clock, so players will have to be sure that the sun is up or that the clock is set to daytime while increasing their Eevee's friendship in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Friendship can be increased by battling together and walking together in the overworld, but giving Eevee a Soothe Bell to hold will boost the rate at which its friendship grows. They can also feed the Pokémon Poffins that it likes or take it to the Massage Girl in Veilstone City to get a massage. Espeon can learn several great charged attacks and has a great special attack stat, making it one of the heaviest hitters of the Eeveelutions.

How To Get Umbreon In Pokémon BDSP

Pokémon BDSP Best Competitive Dark-Type Umbreon

Like Espeon, Umbreon is one of the Gen II Eeveelutions that evolves by increasing its friendship. However, since it's the Dark-type Eeveelution, trainers will have to increase its friendship level at night to get it to evolve. A Pokémon's friendship level can be checked in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl by pressing the screen of the Pokétch. Pokémon with a higher friendship stat will move towards the player's hand and show bigger hearts while Pokémon with a low friendship stat will move away. Of all the Eeveelutions, Umbreon has the best defense and special defense stats, making it a great wall to add to any team.

How To Get Leafeon In Pokémon BDSP

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Leafeon

After a gap in Gen III, two more Eeveelutions were introduced in Diamond & Pearl, including Leafeon. Gen IV's Eeveelutions introduced a new evolution mechanic which required players to be in a specific area of the game to evolve their Eevee into these new forms, and to evolve Eevee into the Grass-type Leafeon; players will have to find the mossy rock in the northwesternmost corner of the Eterna Forest. Standing near this rock and leveling Eevee up will evolve into Leafeon. This can be done either by battling wild Pokémon in the adjacent spaces or giving Eevee a Rare Candy, which will level it up instantly.

How To Get Glaceon In Pokémon BDSP

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Glaceon.webp

Along with Leafeon, Glaceon was the other new Eeveelution introduced to the franchise in Gen IV, and it shares its unique method of evolution in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. This Ice-type Pokémon will only evolve if players level their Eevee up near the icy boulder on Route 217. This boulder can be found behind the northernmost house surrounded by grass in the top right corner of the Route near the entrance of Snowpoint City. Glaceon has one of the highest special attack stats of any Ice-type in the game, and with the ability to learn powerful moves like Ice Beam and Snow Cloak, Glaceon is a great candidate for trainers looking to add an Ice-type to their team.
