Thanks to a new trailer focusing on Zhongli, developer miHoYo has confirmed he's the next banner character in the game - which means he should be coming to Genshin Impact very soon.
Players first meet Genshin Impact's Zhongli during the Liyue portion of the main story. The somewhat enigmatic "Consultant" runs a funeral parlor in town and is known for his generosity. Although he typically speaks in a calm voice, Zhongli is a powerful fighter with polearms and Geo-based skills and attacks.
Now, thanks to the "Zhongli: An Additional Expense Character Tale" teaser trailer, players have a fresh glance at the character. Already promoted as one of the new playable characters in the Genshin Impact 1.1 update, Zhongli will be the next banner character in the game. This means his banner event should arrive when Childe-Tartaglia's event ends. So, fans should expect Zhongli to arrive at the beginning of December. Since miHoYo typically releases updates between Tuesday and Wednesday, this means Zhongli will probably arrive on December 1st or December 2nd, depending on players' time zones.
How To Get Zhongli In Genshin Impact
Although Zhongli will be the featured new banner character, he'll still be incredibly difficult to obtain. As a banner character, he'll only be available through Genshin Impact's Wish system. This gacha system is purely RNG-based and requires players to spend Primogems on Fates for pulls. This can lead to spending real money as well, and even then, the chances of getting Zhongli in Genshin Impact are still incredibly low.
The pull rate for 5-star characters is somewhere around 0.6%, and it's unlikely Genshin Impact's rates will change before Zhongli arrives in the game. In order to get Zhongli, players should go ahead and start saving up Primogems now. They'll need a lot of time - and even more luck - to pull Zhongli through his banner in the Wish system. Thankfully, Zhongli's new banner event in Genshin Impact should be available for around a month, so players should have lots of opportunities to pull for him.
