Since the Version 1.5 update of Genshin Impact released, there has been just a slight lull in content. Now, thanks in part to the Windtrace event, players will have something new to try out in the free-to-play RPG from miHoYo. Here's everything fans need to know about the upcoming Windtrace event and its rewards.

Genshin Impact 1.5 launched with several notable events last months, including an Act 2 addition to Noelle's Hangout and Energy Amplifier Initiation - which can earn players a free Diona. As with past updates, new events will continue to be spread across Version 1.5 until 1.6 arrives in June. This is a way to keep the game feeling fresh and ensuring players stay interested. The latest event to be added is Windtrace, a PvP-style game of hide and seek that allows participants to earn a number of rewards.

The new Windtrace event is yet another way Genshin Impact keeps making co-op better, as players can compete in teams with friends or be randomly placed in a match. The Windtrace event goes live on May 14, 2021, and as with most of Genshin Impact's events, players will need to be at Adventure Rank 20 or higher to participate. The event can be unlocked by speaking with Gygax in Mondstadt, and players can compete in Windtrace until May 24.

Genshin Impact Blueprint Merchants

The Windtrace event in Genshin Impact works like this: Players earn Windtrace Coins by competing in a number of Contested Zones, and those coins can be exchanged for a limited time for rewards like Primogems, Mora, and EXP books. The "Celebration: Peekaboo!" namecard is also up for grabs, offering fans a more permanent reward for their efforts.

In order to compete in a Contested Zone, players will first have to have unlocked that area's corresponding Statue of the Seven. The number of Windtrace Coins players can earn will also increase over time. For instance, on the first day, players can earn a maximum of 1,200 Windtrace Coins. The number will rise by 600 every day for six days, until reaching the maximum cap of 4,800. Much like earning extra Realm Currency in Genshin Impact's housing system, Windtrace Challenges can be completed in order to unlock additional rewards.

A full-on hide and seek game in Genshin Impact sounds like a lot of fun, and it's a pretty interesting take on PvP. Additionally, it also seems like a great way to earn more rewards while waiting for the Version 1.6 update to arrive next month.
