Genshin Impact’s Version 1.6 update “Midsummer Island Adventure” has just been released in every region, and the patch has come with a plethora of new summer content for players to enjoy. Besides updates to the Serenitea Pot, new character banners, and the new area, the game has also introduced skins for the sister's Barbara and Jean.
Barbara’s first skin is available as a reward for the Echoing Tales event exclusive to Version 1.6. As long as players are at Adventure Rank 21, have finished Klee’s Story Quest, and have completed Prologue: Act III, players will be prompted to visit the Knights of Favonius Headquarters to visit Klee again. Doing so will kick-start the new quest.
How to Unlock Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle Outfit
Along with Klee, Jean, and Barbara, the player will have to do a few missions around Mondstadt before they are taken to the new archipelago this update is centered around. Spread around the islands of the archipelago are bright blue and shimmering conches called Echoing Conches. Interacting with a conch will let the player hear a brief snippet of former life on the archipelago, and the conch will subsequently be collected. Echoing Conches can be found pretty easily; besides being easily recognizable against the sand and grass of the islands, conches are also indicated by a little conch-shaped marker on the minimap in the corner if players go near one. This ensures players won’t miss any conches on the various islands they visit during their adventure.
Collecting these Echoing Conches is the goal of the Echoing Tales event. Besides learning more lore about the history of the islands, players will get more rewards based upon how many conches they collect. While there are a total of 32 conches available to collect, players only need 24 to unlock Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle outfit: a fun white and blue ocean-inspired outfit tied together with a cute yellow duck-shaped bag.
Besides the Barbara skin, extra rewards include Primogems, talent books, Mora, and Mystic Enhancement Ores, so the Echoing Tales event is definitely one players won’t want to miss. However, if players don't manage to collect enough conches to unlock Barbara’s outfit during the event period, they’ll be able to buy it in the Character Outfit Shop for 1680 Genesis Crystals, the same price as Jean’s outfit.
