Knowing where to find Starconch in Genshin Impact can save players a lot of time, especially when they're looking to find the Ascension Materials for a particular character. Genshin Impact is filled with materials of various uses, but Starconch is a little stranger in the sense that it is essentially only used in Ascension, and even then for a select few characters.

One trick veteran Genshin Impact players will use in their daily routine is to plot out the best farming routes for a given item. While doing this for every item in the game isn't feasible, focusing on popular Ascension Materials and other items that are relevant to a given person's plan can save hours of grinding.

Luckily, discovering where to find Starconch in Genshin Impact takes only a marginal amount of time. Starconch is only found in the Liyue region, and only in two major locations: the Guyun Stone Forest region (or more broadly, the Sea of Clouds) and the Qiongji Estuary region. Starconch is only found on beach shores and shallow water in Liyue also, which makes finding the item on the ground easier, since there are a limited number of areas in a given environment it could be. With that said, there's further optimization players can do to exploit the best Starconch locations and farming routes in Genshin Impact.

Where to Find Starconch in Genshin Impact (& The Best Farming Routes)

Here's a breakdown of where to find Starconch based on the game's minimap. Each Starconch is designated by an individual flower symbol on the map, and each map will follow a best route to help optimize the amount of time a player is spending on farming in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Starconch Map 1

This first route focuses on the beach shores near two waypoints on the eastern edge of the Liyue region. There's nothing too surprising on this trip, and it's the one with the least amount of combat or impediments on the way to acquiring Starconch. This path yields 19 Starconch, and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete, depending on enemies aggroed and a player's familiarity with the locations of each material.

The above three maps all deal with Starconch locations in the Guyun Stone Forest. The pathing for this Genshin Impact farming route is a little less optimal since it requires some backtracking, and one location has a few Ruin Guards to push through. None of this should be particularly difficult for even a below-average party, however, and it's mostly a hassle thanks to the occasional need to wade through water or take a circuitous route to get to the next location. This route should take anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes, dependent on combat needs and other factors. This path yields 18 Starconch, and also features a great mining node that's labeled with a pickaxe as a bonus.

Finally, the Yaoguang Shoal area has a decent number of Starconch as well, though much more spaced out. This route also features a Ruin Guard alongside plenty of Hilichurl encounters, so expect to spend an extra minute or two either running away or fighting enemies. This Genshin Impact Starconch route yields 25 Starconch, and takes approximately 5 minutes, though it's pretty devoid of additional resources in comparison to the other two routes.

Where to Buy Starconch in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Buy Starconch Bolai

There's an additional 5 Starconch available every two days that requires no farming at all. Players only need to visit Bolai in Liyue and buy 5 Starconch for 5000 Mora. Bolai is located in the under-dock market marked on the map below.

Factoring in all the Genshin Impact Starconch locations alongside the ability to buy from Bolai, this route provides 68 Starconch, which is a sizeable amount to take away from pathing that takes around 15 minutes to complete. For now, Starconch is primarily used as an Ascension Material for Tartaglia, and is now the same for Yelan, the newest 5-Star Hydro bow character.
