Shadowy Husks are a new group of enemies in Genshin Impact as of the Version 2.5 update. They come in various different forms, and are available for players to fight in the Three Realm Gateway Offering event in the new area of Enkanomiya. These enemies are not only a part of the new event, but also have new item drops for players to collect.

Shadowy Husks are an Abyss enemy that has three variations: Standard Bearer, Line Breaker, and Defender. Each of these enemies also has a different Elemental type (Pyro, Hydro, and Cryo, respectively), and they all drop the new item ‘Husk Gems’ upon defeat. These gems are necessary for completing the Three Realms Gateway event sections, so players will need to know how to fight these enemies if they plan on participating in the event.

To fight Shadowy Husks in Genshin Impact, players will need access to the islands of Enkanomiya. To unlock this region, players will need to complete “The Moon-Bathed Deep” and “The Still-Water’s Flow” main quests before they’ll be able to access Enkanomiya, and the related Three Realm Gateway Offering event.

Genshin Impact Noelle versus Shadowy Husk Standard Bearer

The first variation of Shadowy Husk is called the Standard Bearer, and it is a Pyro enemy. When this enemy hits a shielded character, it will generate a Pyro shield of its own (at the cost of some of its health). This shield negates all incoming damage, but will slowly degenerate over time, and can be destroyed with Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact. This enemy can also shoot Fireballs at the player, as well as swing its flaming banner to deal AoE Pyro DMG. To fight this enemy, players should make sure they have Hydro or Cryo characters on the team, and try to use healing units rather than shielding units to prevent the enemy from generating the shield.

The second variation of this enemy in Genshin Impac is called the Line Breaker. This is a Hydro enemy with a different moveset. If the Line Breaker hits a shielded character, they will sacrifice a portion of their health to generate healing energy that heals themselves and nearby husks over time. The enemy can also use a Hydro lance to stab the player, use a charged version of this attack, or swing their lance to deal AoE Hydro DMG. Players will want to defeat this enemy first to prevent it from healing nearby Husks, and bring a Pyro or Cryo DPS to deal with it faster.

The last variation of this enemy is called the Defender, and it is a Cryo enemy. When a Defender attacks a shielded character, its bow will reinforce itself with a guard shield that blocks attacks from the front, and increases its own ATK (by sacrificing some of its health). The enemy can also shoot a bow that deals Cryo DMG, and shoot an airstrike that deals AoE Cryo DMG. To fight this enemy, players will likely want to use a Pyro, Electro, or Geo Main DPS, and make sure to attack it from behind.
