Genshin Impact's 2.6 update introduced The Chasm, a new zone for players to explore. There is a Surface zone of The Chasm, as well as the Underground Mines. In the Underground Mines, there is a subzone called The Serpent's Cave, which is an important one for players to locate.

The Serpent's Cave in Genshin Impact is where the newest World Boss, the Ruin Serpent, can be found. Players will need to locate this subzone if they wish to fight this boss. The Ruin Serpent drops a new type of Ascension Material: the Runic Fang. While no characters currently in Genshin Impact use this material, the two new characters being added in Version 2.7 of Genshin Impact, Kuki Shinobu and Yelan, both have been leaked to need this material to be ascended, so players might want to farm this boss in advance.

The Serpent's Cave in Genshin Impact is found in the Underground Mines part of the Chasm. Since The Chasm is a vast web of tunnels and caves, The Serpent's Cave can initially be difficult to find. It's best to unlock as many Teleport Waypoints as possible to make traversing The Chasm an easy feat.

Directions To The Serpent's Cave In Genshin Impact

To get to The Serpent's Cave, start looking at the map for The Chasm: Underground. There are three Teleport Waypoints in the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel, and the one to teleport to is the one directly southeast of the one where Jinwu (who will upgrade the Lumenstone Adjuvant) can be found (the one on the bottom-right of the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel). Once there, there is a staircase next to the player. Continue heading up these flights of stairs until a bridge across The Chasm comes into view. Head across this bridge, likely running into some Treasure Hoarders, and go up one final flight of stairs found on the other side of the bridge.

Directly in front of the player will be a small tunnel with some minecart tracks. The player will need to head on through this tunnel - it is somewhat lengthy - and eventually, it will open up to a larger cavern filled with Dark Mud. Continue heading straight forward, as this cavern leads directly to The Serpent's Cave. Once inside The Serpent's Cave, there is a Teleport Waypoint on the player's right, as well as one Lumenspar (if the player hasn't already grabbed it). The Ruin Serpent World Boss can be seen across the large gap, digging in the ground. Players can simply glide across the gap if they wish to challenge the boss.

Players can also create a shortcut in the cavern if they wish, which provides much easier traversal from the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel to The Serpent's Cave. From the Teleport Waypoint in The Serpent's Cave, they can glide down toward the Ruin Serpent boss arena in Genshin Impact, staying toward the right to not aggro it. They can head toward the back-right of the boss arena, where there is a steep slope up. Head up this slope and back into the large tunnel it leads to, where there is another Lumenspar. Past the Lumenspar, there are several gears on the ground that can be interacted with (one of them has the Miner's Key which is needed for a gate in the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel), and there is also a Seelie. Follow the Seelie toward the back of the tunnel, where there are three explosive barrels. Detonate these barrels (best done with a bow character to avoid damage), and the wall behind them will be broken, creating a shortcut through The Chasm in Genshin Impact.
