Despite not yet being a playable character, Scaramouche has remained popular in Genshin Impact. The Fatui Harbinger's arrival in Version 1.1 caused lots of rumors suggesting he'd be playable soon, but that hasn't happened yet. Now, more recent alleged leaks point to Scaramouche becoming a weekly boss in a future Genshin Impact update.

This wouldn't be the first time players have fought one of the Fatui Harbingers. Most recently, La Signora was a boss in Genshin Impact for players to farm weekly. Tartaglia, aka Childe, has also arrived as a boss previously. Several months later, newer Genshin Impact leaks are strongly suggesting Scaramouche will become a weekly boss in Genshin Impact Version 3.1. It's somewhat unknown if this means he won't become playable - like Signora - or if he'll arrive on a Banner like Tartaglia. For now, though, it looks as if there are no immediate plans to make Scaramouche playable - but it seems like he could still be playable in the future.

Based on the six-week schedule the game receives, and assuming Version 2.7 of Genshin Impact isn't delayed, Scaramouche's release date as a weekly boss fight would be around September 14, 2022. This is when Version 3.1 should arrive, although the Scaramouche fight may not debut as soon as the new update does.

Playable Scaramouche & Weekly Boss Rumors In Genshin Impact 3.1

However, not all hope is lost that Scaramouche will become playable in Genshin Impact eventually. As SaveYourPrimos and others have pointed out on Twitter and Discord, Scaramouche seemingly has placeholder element, weapon, and avatar data that hasn't been used yet. Signora didn't have this and wasn't playable, so logically, this means Scaramouche's chances of becoming a playable character are much greater.

As with other Genshin Impact leaks for Version 3.0 and beyond, these updates are so far out that they're subject to change. Of course, this is the case with any Genshin Impact leaks, no matter how accurate most of them are, but since this is regarding content that's almost six months away, the Scaramouche weekly boss rumors seem especially susceptible to being altered before the actual release date.

Thus far, it seems like Scaramouche will be a weekly boss during early Sumeru content. It's also still likely he'll become a playable character in Genshin Impact at some point, although the current run of leaks and rumors haven't suggested exactly when this may be. While fans are waiting for some kind of official confirmation, the next Version 2.7 update is expected to arrive at the beginning of May, with the Version 3.0 content expected to arrive in August 2022.
