Raiden Shogun, also known as Baal or the God of Eternity, is the Electro Archon of Inazuma. She was officially revealed in Genshin Impact's Version 2.0 update trailer shown during miHoYo's livestream. The Version 2.1 beta has recently started, which led to leaks of Baal's Skills, Talents, and gameplay spreading online. For players hoping to roll on her Banner once the future update arrives, here's everything to know about Raiden Shogun right now.

Baal is one of the Seven Archons who reside in Teyvat, similar to Venti and Zhongli. Unlike the previous gods, she is a suppressive ruler and serves as the main antagonist during the Inazuma storyline. The Raiden Shogun wields a polearm in battle, but can also summon a special Electro sword where she'll strike enemies down with speed and ferocity. Despite the recent release of the Version 2.0 update, miHoYo revealed Baal to be one of the new playable characters during Genshin Impact's 2.1 updates.

Not much is known about Baal's past. She was not the original Electro Archon who fought during the great Archon War. For unknown reasons, Raiden Shogun issued a Vision Hunt Decree where Visions were forcefully taken away from people who possessed them. She was also responsible for the Sakoku Decree, which shut down Inazuma's borders from the world. More about Baal's history and motives should be made clear as the story continues.

Genshin Impact's Raiden Shogun - Release Date, Skills, & Talents

Baal's fight against the Traveler in Genshin Impact.

Several alleged leaks from Genshin Impact's Version 2.1 beta showcased Baal's Skills and Talents. Her Normal Attack, called Origin, consists of five consecutive strikes with her polearm. The Charged Attack consumes stamina to perform an upward strike. The Raiden Shogun's Elemental Skill is known as Transcendence: Baleful Light deals Electro damage to nearby enemies while buffing allies with the Eye of Stormy Judgement. The ability deals AoE Electro damage whenever a character strikes an enemy.

The Shogun's Elemental Burst is called the Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu, and it's her most devastating skill. When activating the ability, Baal draws her sword, unleashing a destructive AoE Electro attack known as the Musou no Hitotachi. She will then enter a temporary state called the Musou Isshin where all her attacks with her sword deal Electro damage. The Musou Isshin state will also regenerate Energy for allies.

Raiden Shogun will be available once Genshin Impact's Version 2.1 update is released. miHoYo hasn't announced any official dates, but going by previous releases, the game receives a major update every six weeks. Version 2.0 was released on July 21. If players were to follow the six-week update schedule, then Version 2.1 can be expected on September 1, 2021. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the new content within the Inazuma region. With several new quests and events, players will have plenty to do before attempting to recruit the God of Eternity in the 2.1 update.
