Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun has weapon substitutes for players who do not own the 5-star polearm Engulfing Lightning. The Electro Archon works best when equipped with the spear that was specially made for her because it grants her an impressive Energy Recharge bonus via its sub-stat, plus an additional Energy Recharge bonus every time she uses an Elemental Burst. When players build her around that specific stat, they can make proper use of the polearm’s Attack boost, based on the Energy Recharge.

As a sub-DPS, Engulfing Lighting is the best possible weapon she can equip. Nonetheless, reaching Raiden Shogun’s best builds in Genshin Impact does not necessarily require it. The polearm is a 5-star weapon, after all, which means the odds of having the character and her respective weapon are quite limited when compared to a few other substitute weapons Raiden Shogun can use in Genshin Impact.

Which Polearms Raiden Shogun Should Equip In Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact's Raiden Shogun summons the power of Electro in Inazuma City while holding the Musou no Hitotachi in her left hand.

The first and best substitute weapon for Raiden Shogun is the Skyward Spine. The polearm, which is acquirable through Genshin Impact’s normal wish banner offers the precious Energy Recharge sub-stat that the character needs for a proper build. Though it does come at a smaller amount than Engulfing Lightning, it is compensated by a higher base Attack stat, with bonuses to Crit Rate and ATK Speed via its skill.

Although Raiden Shogun needs a team in Genshin Impact to adequately work, a good weapon substitute can put her on the right track. A free-to-play (F2P) option is The Catch, which can be acquired through the Fishing Association. At the downside of having to capture a few, players can get a 4-star weapon that offers an Energy Recharge rate that is better than Skyward Spine’s, though still under Engulfing Lightning’s reach. Its skill is quite simple, increasing Burst Damage and Burst Crit Rate, which is a great selling point for players who want to increase Shogun’s overall damage output.

Players who perhaps adapted to Xiao’s best character builds in Genshin Impact may have Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, which is also obtainable through the normal wish banner. This is a weapon made for an on-field DPS and, as such, serves as a substitute weapon for Raiden Shogun if she occupies this role in a player’s team. Because of it, she can increase her Crit Rate and ATK stats.

If Raiden Shogun were to be used as an on-field DPS, a decent 4-star substitute weapon for the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear in Genshin Impact is Blackcliff Pole. This spear grants a bonus Crit DMG rate, along with the increase of ATK for every defeated enemy. While it might seem like a good idea to use ATK and Crit-focused weapons because Raiden Shogun’s constellations in Genshin Impact mainly boost her attack power, she is at her best when used as a sub-DPS and Energy Recharge character. As such, players should consider investing in her Energy Recharge stats, even if that means fishing in Genshin Impact.
