The latest update for Genshin Impact is scheduled for next week. Following the Special Program livestream, a lot of new information regarding Version 2.1 has started to appear online. This includes the confirmed new playable characters in 2.1, which will be Raiden Shogun (Baal), Sara, and Kokomi. For those eager to see Raiden Shogun's Banner appear in-game, the wait is nearly over.

Baal, also known as the Raiden Shogun, is the Electro Archon of Inazuma. Thus far, she's served as an antagonist in Genshin Impact's 2.0 content - and it looks as though that trend will continue in 2.1. Despite this, she will be appearing as an Event Wish with her own Banner, allowing players to try to acquire her through gacha pulls. Baal is a 5-star Electro user, which means her pull rate will be very low - even though she will have a boosted rate while being a featured Banner character.

Kujou Sara will also be appearing on this Banner, although she's a 4-star Electro user, so she'll be a little easier to pull. Meanwhile, the other new playable character - Kokomi - won't be available on a Banner until about halfway through the Genshin Impact 2.1 content. As usual, miHoYo does this to separate 5-star characters and to keep the game fresh between major version updates.

As officially revealed in the Genshin Impact 2.1 livestream, the next update for the free-to-play RPG will be arriving on September 1, 2021. This will keep in line with miHoYo's six-week schedule, so it's not terribly surprising. Raiden Shogun (Baal) and Sara will both be featured as the first Event Wish characters in this update, which means Raiden Shogun's Banner will release on September 1, 2021, as well.

This means fans have about a week to wait for Raiden Shogun's arrival in-game. At this point, it still looks as if Baal will remain an antagonist for players, despite being able to recruit her. This should be similar to how Tartaglia/Childe's Banner (and Banner rerun) have worked in Genshin Impact in the past - since he's a playable character who's also a member of the Fatui.

In the meantime, players can go ahead and start saving up Primogems for Wishes, as well as planning out and collecting Talent and Ascension materials for the Raiden Shogun if they want to pull Baal in Version 2.1. From everything shown so far, Baal looks like an incredibly powerful Electro user in Genshin Impact, befitting her status as Inazuma's Archon.
