The Version 1.5 content of Genshin Impact will be arriving at the end of the month, and it includes new playable characters, a housing system, new events, and a whole lot more. However, during the latest official livestream from developer miHoYo, concept art for the upcoming Inazuma region was shown, renewing interest in the upcoming nation and its Archon, Baal. Here's everything fans need to know about Genshin Impact's newest Archon.

Inazuma will be the third nation added to Genshin Impact when it arrives. Currently, Liyue and Monstadt make up the first chapter portions of the game's main storyline. The world of Teyvat is made up of seven nations total, meaning Inazuma will be the first of many major updates that introduce new regions and nations into Genshin Impact. The concept art for Inazuma, shown during the 1.5 livestream, revealed Japanese-inspired architecture and and an island surrounded by shipwrecks and giant monster bones.

Each nation in Genshin Impact is inspired by a real-world country and is based around one of the game's elements. Inazuma is based around the Electro element, which means Baal is the Electro Archon. Also known as the Raiden Shogun, Baal is also the leader of Inazuma's governing body. While developer miHoYo has given fans plenty of teases and information regarding Inazuma and Baal already, there are a few questions that still remain ahead of Inazuma's release date.

What Genshin Impact's Inazuma Archon Looks Like

Genshin Impact Inazuma Character Leaks Archon

Because purple is the signature color of the Electro element in Genshin Impact, it's presumed the Electro Archon will have clothing (and perhaps even hair or other features) that correspond with that color. So far, there's been no official artwork released of Baal. Alleged Inazuma Archon leaks turned out to be Raiden Mei (pictured above) from miHoYo's other RPG, Honkai Impact 3rd. However, it seems likely that the Electro Archon will have a similar design as well, since this is Raiden Mei's Herrscher of Thunder form.

Until miHoYo releases official artwork for the Electro Archon, there's no way to know for sure what they'll look like. Previous Archons, like Barbatos, have been known to take on human forms - so there's a good chance Baal is at least shown as a human at certain points in the story. Inazuma and its Electro Archon are both expected to arrive during the Chapter 2 storyline of Genshin Impact, which doesn't have a release date at this time.
