Even before the release of the Dendro Element and the new Sumeru region in Genshin Impact Version 3.0, players have been curious about when Baizhu, a Liyue pharmacist and the first character to possess a Dendro Vision, would be playable. Though the element has now been released, Genshin Impact still hasn't revealed any information about when players should be able to obtain the character, or what his abilities and kit will look like. Although this has left many long-time fans of Baizhu disheartened, dedicated leakers may have found when Baizhu will be playable in Genshin Impact.
Baizhu, an NPC from Liyue, has been in Genshin Impact since the Version 1.0 release of the game, capturing the hearts of many fans with his cunning personality and intelligence in medicine. The Owner of the Bubu Pharmacy and guardian of the playable, Cryo zombie character Qiqi, Baizhu aided the Traveler on their adventures in Liyue and continues to support them. Baizhu also has a weak constitution and physical strength caused by an unknown illness which many have speculated to be Eleazar, the same illness which affects Collei. This potential connection has set up many to believe he would make a perfect character for the Sumeru region, potentially finding a cure for the disease, with the aid of the Traveler.
Baizhu Will Be Playable In Genshin Impact Version 3.6
Due to his Dendro Vision, many players thought that Genshin Impact Version 3.0 would finally be their opportunity to play as Baizhu, and with some confirmation from reliable leakers, it seems like this chance should come fairly soon. Genshin Impact Leaker on Twitter, SaveYourPrimos has released a list detailing what characters should come out for the rest of Version 3.X's timeline, like upcoming characters Nahida and Layla in Version 3.2. Here, it's confirmed that Baizhu should be joining the playable roster further down the road, during Version 3.6.
Although the Traveler and Paimon have already mentioned Changsheng, Baizhu's pet snake and companion, during a short exchange in a Sumeru Daily Commission, SaveYourPrimos also revealed that more information about the pharmacist and snake duo should be releasing soon. On top of this, they also reveal that not only will Baizhu be a 5-star character, but should also be a Catalyst user, and of course, possess a Dendro Vision. This information, paired with his release coming during Genshin Impact Version 3.6, which should go live in March of next year if the game stays on track, is plenty to keep the hype for this long-awaited character alive.
Although things are never guaranteed when it comes to leaks, in the case of Baizhu, who many believe deserves to be playable, it would be more surprising if the character didn't release sometime in the Genshin Impact Version 3.X run time. The character fits too perfectly within the region, and since the Dendro Element is now in the game, there is nothing stopping Baizhu from joining the playable roster. In the meantime, however, Genshin Impact Version 3.2 is arriving decently soon, leading fans another patch closer to Baizhu's potential release date in 3.6.
