Following up after the recent Banner featuring Raiden Shogun (Baal) and Kujou Sara, Kokomi's Banner is arriving soon. Kokomi was one of three characters confirmed for Genshin Impact 2.1 during miHoYo's Special Program livestream. While Baal and Sara debuted alongside the new update, fans have had to wait a bit longer for Kokomi to appear in-game. This isn't anything new, really, as miHoYo has staggered playable character releases in new versions since the game launched last year. Thankfully, for those who are eager to recruit her, Kokomi's Banner is arriving soon.
Kokomi's Banner is set to arrive on September 21, 2021. This means she'll be added to the game about three weeks after the Raiden Shogun and Sara were. This is pretty typical for miHoYo, since the studio usually adds in a new character Banner about halfway through an update. This is a way to keep players coming back to Genshin Impact but also keeps the RPG feeling fresh when there are lulls in new story content or events.
Genshin Impact 2.1: What To Expect From Kokomi's Banner
Kokomi is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, and she is meant primarily to be a support character. While some fans were upset at Kokomi's negative crit stats, she comes with plenty of heals that may help parties during later stages of the game. Because of this, any players who pull her through the Wish system will likely want to focus a character build on healing allies rather than for DPS.
A new trailer for Kokomi debuted earlier today, showcasing some additional voice acting and background info on the character. The trailer can be viewed here, and teases some of the content that will likely be a part of Kokomi's own story quests. As with other character teasers from miHoYo, the trailer was released about a week before she'll actually arrive in-game.
Even though she has yet to appear, Kokomi's arrival in Genshin Impact has already proven to be a bit divisive among fans. Some feel her negative crit stats make her an underwhelming addition, while others are eager to pull her once her Banner arrives.
