Genshin Impact’s new character Kirara has been officially confirmed as playable by HoYoverse, and now players only have to wait to be able to control her. Kirara, who was originally leaked as Momoka in Genshin Impact, has now had her name confirmed. Her design originally led leakers to believe that this lady with fox-like attributes would be a Geo shielder, but she is confirmed to wield the element of Dendro instead.

Of course, she can still be a shielder, but that has yet to be revealed by the developer. While very little information has been shared about her, especially in terms of gameplay, Kirara’s release date in Genshin Impact is almost certain thanks to a new update by HoYoverse. Players may not have to wait too long before playing with her and her new Dendro powers.

When Kirara Arrives In Genshin Impact

Kirara was announced by HoYoverse on Genshin Impact’s official Twitter profile, with a few posts offering more details about her. This is the developer’s standard procedure for announcing new playable characters. These heroes usually arrive in the game’s version following the upcoming one. Genshin Impact’s Version 3.6 is arriving in April and its characters have already been confirmed, so Kirara should be added with Genshin Impact 3.7. The lack of an official mention of the version, however, makes the release date for Genshin Impact’s Kirara subject to change.

Genshin Impact 3.7 & Kirara’s Release Date Details

Because Kirara is likely arriving with Version 3.7, it is possible to speculate exactly when that will happen. Genshin Impact follows a six-week schedule for each update and these versions are usually patched in on Wednesdays. With 3.6’s release set for April 12, Version 3.7 should arrive on May 24 – the sixth week after 3.6, and a Wednesday. This is considering that the update is not delayed for any reason. The game been following a steady stream of content and hasn’t seen an update delay since Version 2.7, so it seems unlikely that it and Genshin Impact’s Kirara will be delayed.

Nevertheless, character banners in Genshin Impact tend to be divided into two phases in each Version. HoYoverse does not follow a strict rule that new additions are always added in Phase 1 or Phase 2, but rather plays around with that a bit – in 3.5, Dehya was added with in Phase, while 3.6’s Baizhu will only arrive in Phase 2, for instance. Additionally, it is still not even known if Genshin Impact’s Kirara is a 4-star or 5-star character, meaning she could have a banner of her own or be a featured 4-star in two distinct 5-star banners, in either Phase 1 or Phase 2. This means Kirara will likely release on May 24 (for Phase 1) or around three weeks later for Phase 2.

Genshin Impact’s Kirara is a part of HoYoverse’s continued effort to expand the list of playable Dendro characters in the game. Most recently, the game has seen Alhaitham and Yaoyao added to the title, with Baizhu and Kaveh on their way in 3.6. With Kirara’s addition in 3.7, players will have even more options for tackling Dendro and its respective Elemental Reactions, which are some of the best in Genshin Impact.
