A new event is coming to Genshin Impact Version 1.6, and it's called "Kaboomball Kombat". For a limited time, players can earn a host of rewards by challenging and defeating Genshin Impact's newest foe, Dodofortresses. But before fans jump into combat, here's everything to know about Genshin Impact's newest event.
With Genshin Impact's Legend of the Vagabond Sword event currently underway, Version 1.6 has had no shortage of earning rewards, and Genshin Impact's Kaboomball Kombat event will be no different. Participants will earn the event currency, Enigma Gears, for completing Challenge Quests while battling Dodofortresses. Enigma Gears will be exchangeable for Primogems, Character EXP Materials, Mora, and a "Celebration: Kaboomball" Event Namecard in the Event Shop. Enigma Gears will have no use when the Event Shop closes four days after "Kaboomball Kombat" ends, so they must be redeemed before then.
The Genshin Impact Version 1.6 event Kaboomball Kombat will span ten days, starting July 2, 2021, and running through July 12, 2021. To be eligible, players must be Adventure Rank 21 or above. Participants can choose to complete the challenge in Single-Player Mode or band together in Genshin Impact's Co-Op Mode. It is important to note that if choosing to play in Co-Op Mode, the Kaboomball Kombat doubles challenge will only allow two-player teams. The challenge will have three total stages, unlocking new Challenge Quests on days one, three, and five.
Genshin Impact's Kaboomball Kombat Gameplay Details Explained
Kaboomball Kombat lets contenders battle Dodofortresses on Genshin Impact's Golden Apple Archipelago islands. The Dodofotresses fire Kaboomballs at participants, challenging them to reflect and return the Kaboomballs to cause damage. Players can return the Kaboomballs by using Dodoguards. There are two types of Dodoguard returns players can achieve: a Normal Return and a Perfect Return. The type of return depends on the timing the Dogoguard hits a Kaboomball. Challengers will want to strive for a Perfect Return to inflict more damage to a Dodofortress.
Dodofortresses have a Fury gauge filling as players continue to rack up damage. Once full, the Dogofortress will enter Fury Faze, increasing the onslaught of Kaboomballs fired. There are special types of Kaboomballs that inflict more damage to a Dodofortress when effectively returned. Likewise, they can negatively affect the player if poorly reflected. During Fury Faze, special Kaboomballs have a higher chance of appearing, so contenders need to remain diligent. Dodofortresses can also generate shields for defense. In this case, only Perfect Returns can inflict any damage and destroy the shield. Throughout the challenge, Shazamfruits will appear, offering different support buffs during the battle. To earn the highest score in the latest Genshin Impact event, players need to defeat as many Dodfortresses as possible in the allotted time frame.
