As with any role-playing game, Genshin Impact has a few different facets to its leveling system. Players can level up their adventure rank, weapons, and relationships; but they may want to focus on leveling up their characters. Character leveling is important because the character's level dictates the level of health they have, their attack power, and their defense. With each level, these stats increase making character leveling a necessity.
Just like how there are many different leveling systems in Genshin Impact, there are also different types of experience. Each type of experience goes towards increasing the level of a certain facet, and each type of experience is earned through different actions. As such, character levels require character experience, weapons require weapon experience, and Adventure Ranks require Adventure Rank experience. Luckily, character leveling is one of the easiest facets to level up in Genshin Impact.
Increase Character Level In Genshin Impact
There are two methods of earning character experience in Genshin Impact. The first is by defeating enemies. Each enemy that is defeated will give the player a different amount of experience depending on what level they are. If a player defeats an enemy that is a higher level than their own, they will gain more experience. But weaker enemies will only net the player minuscule amounts of experience.
The easiest and fastest way to level up a character is by using character leveling items. There are three items players can use which are Wanderer's Advice, Adventurer's Experience, and Hero's Wit. Each item gives the player a different amount of experience with the Wanderer's Advicegiving the least amount, and Hero's Wit giving the most. These items can be used via the character leveling menu, but they cost Mora in order to use it. The higher level the character is the more items they will need to reach the next level.
Lastly, every 20 levels a character will need to ascend by using rare items found all over Treyvat. Ascending a character will drastically increase their stats and will allow them to level up beyond their current leveling threshold. Each character requires different ascension materials, and every ascension requires rare materials than the last. However, ascended characters are much stronger than unascended characters making the grind for rare items well worth the effort.
