Although Version 1.4 of Genshin Impact has only just begun, many fans are looking ahead to future updates for the series. A number of new regions and nations are expected to arrive in Genshin Impact through updates in the future, providing major new content for the open-world RPG. The long-rumored Inazuma region is expected to arrive first, so just when will the new Inazuma region release in Genshin Impact?

In the past, the Inazuma has been rumored for just about every content update of Genshin Impact. Fans speculated it would be a part of the Genshin Impact Version 1.3 content, and then again for Version 1.4. So far, these persistent rumors continue to be proven false. However, there's quite a bit fans know about the Inazuma region already - and after a number of smaller updates, it could mean the new region is going to be added to Genshin Impact soon.

Each major nation in Genshin Impact is representative of one of the game's elements. For instance, Mondstadt is Anemo (Wind) and Liyue is Geo (Earth). Inazuma is a nation and region for the Electro element, and characters like Ayaka are expected to become playable as a part of the update with this nation. It's been several months since the Dragonspine region was added in Version 1.2, and Genshin Impact has had a bit of an endgame draught (as well as releasing new characters at a slower pace) ever since. So, the timing for the Inazuma region's release would be just about perfect.

When The Inazuma Region Could Be Added To Genshin Impact

Although not confirmed by developer miHoYo, rumors are once again pointing to Inazuma being released in either the Version 1.5 or 1.6 updates. Of course, these rumors have turned out to be wrong before, and it's certainly possible they'll be wrong again. Still, given the lack of content being added into Genshin Impact right now, Inazuma's release date seems inevitable.

In recent months, miHoYo has mostly relied on in-game events like the Lantern Rite and Windblume Festivals to keep content going. The amount of new playable characters has also slowed down pretty significantly. So, if miHoYo wants to keep players coming back to the game, the Inazuma region would be a great way to do that. This would be a major update with lots of story quests, new areas to explore, and new characters - so it's definitely exciting to think about. A Genshin Impact 1.5 beta test is also being held, which could indicate something big (like a new region) is being added.

For now, though, it's unclear when exactly miHoYo will release the Inazuma region. However, due to the recent endgame draught, there's definitely a need for more content. The Inazuma region would be a great way to revitalize Genshin Impact in Version 1.5 once the festivals in Liyue and Mondstadt have ended.
