The Genshin Impact Version 3.0 update will feature both Ganyu and Sangonomiya Kokomi as promotional Banner characters during the second half of the update. The returning characters will be on separate Banners allowing players the opportunity to pull for either one. Both 5-star allies can be an incredible asset for players, but who should fans pull for?
Ganyu in Genshin Impact is a Cryo element user who primarily focuses on Charged Shots with her bow. Her main role within a team is to be the main on-field damage dealer because Ganyu can inflict high AOE damage with her Talents. In addition to being a DPS, Ganyu can be a consistent Cryo enabler due to her Elemental Burst being active even while she is off the field. This will allow other characters to activate Cryo focus Elemental Reactions in battle.
Kokomi wields the Hydro Vision and uses a Catalyst in combat. She mainly acts as the healer within a team, being greatly efficient due to her ability to constantly heal the entire party with her Elemental Burst. Kokomi is also a great Hydro character in Genshin Impact because all her Talents can apply the element to enemies. Despite being a healer, Kokomi can also be a decent on-field damage dealer.
Genshin Impact 3.0 Banners: Ganyu Vs Kokomi
Ganyu has been regarded by fans as one of the strongest damage dealers in Genshin Impact. She possesses incredible AOE attacks that can be essential in facing multiple enemies at once such as Spiral Abyss challenges. Combining strong supports like Bennet as well as utilizing Melt Elemental Reactions can lead to over 100,000 points of damage with the right build. A major weakness of Ganyu is that she is reliant on Charged Attacks, which can be a problem if she is hit and staggered by enemies or if players are forced to dodge incoming attacks.

Despite not being able to deal as high of damage as Ganyu, Kokomi is a great choice for players searching for a reliable healer who can also be used as an offensive character. Both characters are limited and will not return until future updates, but players should also be aware that the Version 3.1 update - along with new characters like Cyno and Nilou - will be released after Ganyu and Kokomi's Banner ends.
