Frogs are one of the many types of wildlife in Genshin Impact and are often found in wetland areas near bodies of water. There are three types of Frog that can be caught with the Omni-Ubiquity Net, or collected for the Frog crafting material: the Blue Frog, the Mud Frog, and the regular green Frog. Frogs cannot be purchased from any of Genshin Impact’s vendors, so farming them is the only way to get them. Frogs are used to craft Potions that, when consumed, buff all party members' damage. Genshin Impact 2.6 added a new Potion, Unmoving Essential Oil, which is especially useful for defeating the enemies within the Chasm thanks to its Geo DMG boosting properties.

Genshin Impact’s 2.6 update introduced the Chasm, a new explorable region comprising vast underground mines. Before players can access the Chasm’s mines, they need to break the Chasm’s seal by destroying Bedrock Keys in Genshin Impact as part of the "Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering" quest. Players can then embark upon "The Chasm Delvers" World Quests, undertaking six separate quests which, upon completion, will light up the Chasm’s Underground Mines. During the fourth part of this questline, players will learn the Unmoving Essential Oil crafting recipe and will be tasked with making three of these oils, each requiring two Frogs.

Frogs in Genshin Impact's Mondstadt region are found in wetland areas adjacent to bodies of water such as the pond surrounding the Springvale teleport waypoint, the ponds near the Thousand Winds Temple, and the lake near Dadaupa Gorge. The area with the largest number of Frogs in the region appears to be the lakes to the west of the Dawn Winery in Genshin Impact, along the Liyue border. Small clusters of Frogs can also be found in the pools within Stormterror’s Lair. Interestingly, there don’t appear to be any Frogs on the shores of Cider Lake, the lake which surrounds the City of Mondstadt.

Genshin Impact: Best Place To Farm Frogs In Every Region

Frog Locations Genshin Impact

Liyue is abundant with Frogs and, fortunately for players, they are mostly concentrated in the same area: the bodies of water to the west of Liyue Harbor. From the base of Mount Tianheng, following the water to Lingju Pass and Qingxu Pool, the shorelines are littered with dozens of Frogs. North of Liyue Harbor, Frogs can be found in the waters of Luhua Pool along with Crabs, and throughout Bishui Plain. There are also Frogs dotted between Qinqce Village and the Liyue-Mondstadt border, so players should keep their eyes peeled in this area. Finally, there are a handful of Frogs within the newly-added Chasm, hopping along the shores of the Underground Waterway.

Aside from a couple of Frogs in the Serpent’s Bowels area of Enkanomiya, there are no Frogs to be found in Inazuma, so players should avoid farming for Frogs in the Electro region. Liyue is the clear leader when it comes to Frogs, making it the go-to destination for Genshin Impact players looking to farm Frogs for crafting recipes. Mondstadt isn’t far behind Liyue, offering a generous amount of Frogs on its shorelines. Genshin Impact is continuously adding new content and updates, with the newest region Sumeru expected to arrive in Summer 2022. Hopefully, the addition of Sumeru will bring even more Frog farming locations.
