In Genshin Impact, there is an organization known as the Fatui. They serve the Tsaritsa from Snezhnaya and mostly serve as antagonists in the game. The Fatui are lead by Eleven Harbingers - the Tsaritsa’s lieutenants - who are all wealthy and powerful members of Sznehnayan society. These formidable people are often right at the center of any trouble. So far, only nine of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers have been introduced - some more thoroughly than others.

These characters are Vision bearers, but they have also been granted delusions by the Tsaritsa, which make the Fatui Harbingers in Genshin Impact extremely powerful. Not much is known about these delusions other than that they are extremely dangerous - especially to their wielders. This power they’ve been granted allows them absolute authority over their divisions.

Rank within the Harbingers is based on seniority - the oldest members have the most authority over the others. When they join the Fatui, these characters take on new names and titles. While two of the eleven are yet to be introduced, there are nine that have made an impression on the story of Genshin Impact in some way, thus far.

Genshin Impact: Fatui Harbinger Pierro, The Jester

Genshin Impact Shakkei Pavilion

The very first member of the Fatui and the first Harbinger is surprisingly mysterious. Even though Pierro holds such an important role in the organization, there hasn’t been too much shared about him, not even what he looks like. He did, however, personally recruit several members of the Harbingers himself. In the unknown country Pierro came from, he was unable to stop a disaster from happening that brought about the destruction of the country. This even led to his disillusion with the divine and enabled him to join the Tsarista’s cause. Other than that, the first Harbinger is still a mystery, but it is highly likely that he will have an important role to play in Genshin Impact’s future story.

Genshin Impact: Fatui Harbinger Pulcinella, The Rooster

The next Fatui Harbinger that is known to players is Pulcinella, the fifth Harbinger. Little is known about them or their personality, but they do appear to have a calculating side. Pulcinella is the one responsible for recruiting Childe, under the pretenses of punishment but knowing full well that Childe would succeed in the Fatui.

Genshin Impact: Fatui Harbinger Scaramouche, The Balladeer

Scaramouche is the sixth Fatui Harbinger, and the highest ranking one who has actually appeared in-game. His first encounter is a part of the Unreconciled Stars event. Because Scaramouche has been in a quest line, more is known about his personality. He is generally regarded as being difficult to get along with, and doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.

He likes asserting his authority over his subordinates, especially in a violent way. As he demonstrates in the Unreconciled Stars event, Scaramouche is very two-faced and unpredictable, and his youthful, boyish appearance only adds to his act, making him a dangerous Genshin Impact character.

Genshin Impact's Fatui Harbinger La Signora, The Fair Lady

La Signora is the eighth Fatui Harbinger, but the first one players meet in the game. Her first appearance is at the end of Act Three of the Prologue where she has an encounter with the Traveler that introduces the Harbingers’ mission. La Signora demonstrates her temper here, but when she appears again at the end of the Liyue storyline, she is much calmer and more professional.

In this second encounter it is also revealed that she is incredible cunning and secretive. La Signora is a master manipulator. That, coupled with her power, makes her very dangerous. She is also apparently fond of using lethal force against her subordinates, according to Childe. While she is shown using Cryo in her first appearance, it is actually only speculated that this is her delusion. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Although, with the recent Genshin Impact leak about La Signora becoming a weekly boss, this information will likely be known soon.

Genshin Impact's Fatui Harbinger Tartaglia, AKA Childe

The eleventh member of the Fatui Harbingers is Childe. What makes him especially different from the other currently known Harbingers is that Childe/Tartaglia is a playable character. While this may be at odds with the Fatui’s position as the ostensible villains of the story, Childe’s personality makes it work. He is always eager for a challenge and considers anyone who is a strong fighter to be his friend - even if they are on the opposite side of the battlefield. But this desire for a challenge, and his habit of seeking out danger, make him very unpredictable.

When he fell into the Abyss as a child, Tartaglia met and trained with a mysterious swordswoman named Skirk. She is credited with making him the fighter is he today, and this encounter also made him confident - perhaps arrogant - and brash. Tartaglia is a very straightforward character, and he openly criticizes other Fatui members and their methods. This straightforwardness is also what allows him to be manipulated as he assumes everyone else is also upfront about their actions.

Genshin Impact's Fatui Harbinger Dottore, The Doctor

Dottore makes his appearance in the Genshin Impact manga, which is set some time before the events of the game, as a diplomat to Mondstadt. Dottore has very little respect or regard for human life - which makes his title extremely ironic. He is disdainful toward Vision holders and considers them “self-inflated fools.” What this says about his own vision is yet to be determined. Dottore is very interested in the Abyss Order and often experiments on Ruin Guards. In fact, he once turned his subordinate Krupp into a Ruin Guard-like machine.

As for his past, Dottore has a history of upsetting people with his strange and inhumane experiments. He was initially chased out of his hometown supposedly for this very reason. He managed to be accepted into the Sumeru Academia but was shunned there, too. He quickly accepted Pierro’s offer to join the Fatui. In Mondstadt, Dottore lures in naive recruits but actually uses them for these experiments. He can even turn these people into monsters after they have died. His character definitely brings Dr. Frankenstein to mind, and it would be surprising if a similar story isn’t told in Genshin Impact eventually.

Genshin Impact Fatui Harbingers: Capitano, Pantalone, & Sandrone

There are three other Fatui Harbingers who have been mentioned, but have yet to appear in Genshin Impact. Capitano, whose rank hasn’t been revealed yet, was mentioned by Viktor during the commission Tales of Winter. In this quest, Viktor states that he would much rather work under Capitano than La Signora, implying that Capitano may be of a much kinder, or less brutal, nature. Unfortunately, this is all the information that has been provided about Capitano thus far.

Pantalone is one of the Harbingers that players know the least about. He is in charge of Snezhnayan economic polices, which makes perfect sense as he is the one who books the entire Goth Hotel in Mondstadt. Not much is know about Sandrone, either. This Fatui Harbinger has only been briefly mentioned in Childe’s character tale, “Childe: Sigil of Permission,” and even that didn’t give much information.

The rest of the eleven Harbingers in Genshin Impact have yet to either make an appearance in-game or even be mentioned. As one of these Fatui officers has been involved in the main story for both Liyue and Mondstadt, it is safe to assume that another Harbinger will make an appearance in the new Inazuma region. However, whether this will be a new character or one that has already been introduced is yet to be seen.
