Genshin Impact's Version 3.0 has released its newest set of banners, and along with it, the highly anticipated 4-star, Electro character Dori. Being the third character to come out thus far in the patch, Dori is the first non-Dendro character as well as being the second 4-star character to be included in the Sumeru region update. Possessing a vast array of elusive goods, as well as wielding a large Claymore, Dori seems to fill an interesting role in both the gameplay and story of Genshin Impact.

Dori can be found early in the Traveler's adventures in Sumeru, functioning as the owner of The Palace of Alcazarzaray, and a proficient, highly-respected merchant. Her wit, combined with her ability to find anything a person needs, helps to keep earning her the glittering Mora she's so fond of. Though most of her sales are illegal, her charming words and careful examination of each customer prevent her from being caught. However, in terms of gameplay, it seems many of Dori's skills and Talents don't lend themselves naturally to combat.

Dori falls into a subpar place in terms of gameplay. While she seems to be more of a support character, her performance in the role is lackluster and requires too much effort to make it effective. Even as a devoted Electro wielder, other characters such as Fischl or Raiden seem to outperform her in many ways. However, Dori possesses a slew of unique attack animations, something that 4-star characters are rarely given. Riding on a purple, slime-like Jinni, Dori floats around the battlefield choosing to let the creature swing her large claymore, rather than herself. This interesting addition to her character may be a deciding factor, that makes up for her lack of combat prowess.

Genshin Impact Leak: Will Dori Be Free In 3.2

Genshin-Impact-Dori

Being a 4-star character, Dori shouldn't be too difficult to obtain, though with new characters like Candace and Cyno just around the corner, it might be more worthwhile to pass on the merchant. To top it off, a Twitter post from user Ubatcha1 states that the character is going to be free in Genshin Impact Version 3.2. While the leak suggests that there is always potential that the free character may be changed, for Dori, it's safer to bet on obtaining her for free, rather than spending valuable Primogems.

While Dori is a unique character, with an interesting charm and combat style, the Sumeru Merchant may not be worth the high cost. While she is extremely helpful through assisting the Traveler in their adventures as a purveyor of goods, as a combatant, she leaves something to be desired. That being said, Dori may be worth rolling for, based on her personality alone for those who enjoy her style. As Genshin Impact Version 3.0 continues, it will be interesting to see how Dori changes and evolves with the rest of the cast.
