When the region of Sumeru arrived in Genshin Impact 3.0, players were finally able to see who the Dendro Archon was in-game. Sumeru made for a highly anticipated addition simply because the Dendro element had rarely been seen in-game beyond the odd Dendro slime or Samachurl. The current overarching story for Genshin Impact has the Traveler searching for their lost sibling, a quest taking them across the various regions of Teyvat. The appearance of the Dendro Archon was one step of seeking out each nation’s Archon, a quest that remains ongoing in the game.

Sumeru’s Archon is called the Lesser Lord Kusanali, and she is dubbed the God of Wisdom, as explained by Zhongli in Genshin Impact. In the game, Ganyu tells the Traveler that Kusanali is the youngest of the seven Archons of Teyvat. Similar to Inazuma, there was once another Dendro Archon, known as the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. Also referred to as the God of the Woods, the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata fell with Khaenri’ah in the cataclysm 500 years ago. Kusanali rose to the position of Archon as Rukkhedevata's successor, but not everything is simple for Genshin Impact's Dendro Archon.

Genshin Impact’s Dendro Archon Is Nahida

Nahida Genshin Impact Facing Straight Ahead

The human vessel of the Lesser Lord Kusanali is the Genshin Impact character Nahida. First made available as a playable character in Genshin Impact 3.2, Nahida is a five-star Dendro Catalyst who makes an excellent sub-DPS or support for many great Nahida team comps. Despite her status as the Dendro Archon, Nahida has not had an easy path to recognition. The Lesser Lord Kusanali was sheltered in the Sanctuary of Surasthana after the fall of the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, giving her minimal exposure to the outside world. She has less followers than some other Archons, although those loyal to her hold the Sabzeruz Festival in her honor.

The Dendro Archon Has A Lot To Deal With

Genshin Nahida Wink 3.2

The love of these people from Genshin Impact's Sumeru areas for their Archon was first revealed during the Liyue Archon Quest. Nahida's fans, which include characters like the Hydro-using dancer Nilou, call her the Lesser Lord Kusanali as a term of endearment. Not everyone who knows of Nahida treats her with this same love, however. The Sages of the Sumeru Akademiya act against the holding of the Sabzeruz Festival in Nahida's name. The conflict with the Sumeru Akademiya was built up well before Nahida's release in the game. Lisa, Mondstadt’s favorite librarian in Genshin Impact, ended her education at the Sumeru Academia early after becoming disillusioned with the place.

Dainsleif declares that the God of Wisdom’s greatest enemy is “wisdom itself.” He accuses her of inaction while there is a “push for folly” in her nation. At the end of the Inazuma Archon Quest, Yae Miko chides the Dendro Archon for using knowledge as a resource. Yae Miko does question, however, if the issues taking place in Sumeru are not Kusanali’s work at all, but that of the sages. This turns out to be the case, and when the Traveler's journey intersects with Nahida's story, the full extent of her tragic past and the necessity of helping Genshin Impact's Dendro Archon Nahida to change the trajectory of Sumeru becomes clear.
