Although Genshin Impact characters can be acquired through the game's gacha system, by spending wishes on limited-time character Event Wish Banners, several characters haven't received a rerun since their initial release. This means that Genshin Impact players have only received one opportunity to pull for these characters when their Banners were first released. Character Event Wish Banners in Genshin Impact usually run for three weeks, giving players a limited window to try and obtain the featured character through the gacha system.

Genshin Impact players unlock access to the game's Wish system early on as the main method of obtaining new characters. While there are a few free characters that players unlock through leveling up in-game, completing quests, and participating in events, these are often Genshin Impact's lower rarity 4-star characters. Aside from the Traveler, Genshin Impact's 5-star characters can be obtained through wishing on limited-time promotional character banners or the Wanderlust Invocation and Beginners' Wish banners.

There are currently six playable characters in Genshin Impact whose character banners have only been available once when they were first released: Arataki Itto, Kaedehara Kazuha, Kamisato Ayato, Yoimiya, Yae Miko, and Shenhe. It has been officially confirmed by HoYoverse that Itto will get a rerun of his banner in the second half of Genshin Impact's delayed 2.7 update. Although HoYoverse has yet to announce the banners for Genshin Impact's 2.8 update, leaks allege that a double banner featuring Kazuha and Yoimiya is coming in the second half of the update, which would be the first rerun for both characters.

Arataki Itto Rerun Confirmed For Genshin Impact 2.7 Update

Genshin Impact Characters Never Had Rerun Itto Gameplay

Arataki Itto is a 5-star Geo character in Genshin Impact who wields a claymore. Arataki Itto arrived in the second phase of Genshin Impact's 2.3 update and players could wish for him on his Banner, Oni's Royale. Alongside the announcement of the confirmed 2.7 update release date, HoYoverse announced the character banners for the upcoming update. Much to the delight of Itto fans, Itto's Banner will be getting a rerun in the second phase of Genshin Impact's 2.7 update. A new 4-star Electro user, Kuki Shinobu, will also be featured during this time.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Leaks: Kazuha Could Be Getting A Rerun

Genshin Impact 1.6 Kazuha Character Leaks

Kaedehara Kazuha is a 5-star Anemo character in Genshin Impact and one of three Anemo users, including the Anemo-attuned Traveler, who wields a sword. Kazuha is considered one of the best Support and Sub-DPS characters in the game, especially if his second constellation Yamaarashi Tailwind is unlocked. Genshin Impact players have long waited for a Kazuha rerun as he has not had one since he was first added to the game in the 1.6 update, nearly a year ago. Recent leaks suggest a Kazuha rerun is coming in version 2.8, however, Genshin Impact leaks have been wrong about Kazuha getting his long-overdue rerun in the past.

Kamisato Ayato Hasn't Had A Banner Rerun In Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Characters That Have Never Had A Rerun Kamisato Ayato

Kamisato Ayato is one of the newest 5-star characters to be added to Genshin Impact, with his banner Azure Excursion released at the start of the game's 2.6 update. 5-star Hydro user Ayato works well when used alongside Cryo users like his sister, fellow 5-star character Kamisato Ayaka. Ayato has not received a rerun of his banner yet, but this is unsurprising given how recently he was added to Genshin Impact as a playable character.

Ayato's sister Kamisato Ayaka is one of the playable characters in Genshin Impact who has already received a rerun. Ayaka's banner The Heron's Court first appeared in Genshin Impact's Inazuma-themed 2.0 update, getting a rerun in the second half of version 2.6 to coincide with her brother's release. Like Ayaka, Ayato probably won't receive a rerun until five or six updates have passed from his initial release date.

Yoimiya Rerun Rumored For Genshin Impact Version 2.8

Genshin Impact Characters That Have Never Had A Rerun Yoimiya Closeup

Naganohara Yoimiya is a 5-star Pyro character, regarded among Genshin Impact's best Main DPS characters, especially for the Pyro element. Yoimiya's banner Tapestry of Golden Flames first arrived in the second half of Genshin Impact's 2.0 update. Recent leaks allege that Yoimiya will be finally getting a rerun Banner in the second half of Genshin Impact Version 2.8, alongside Kazuha, who has been waiting even longer than Yoimiya for a rerun of his Banner. However, the recent Genshin Impact 2.8 leaks are not confirmed and there has been disagreement over which character will feature on the Banner in the first half of the 2.8 update.

Genshin Impact's Yae Miko Hasn't Had A Rerun Of Her Banner

Genshin Impact Characters That Have Never Had A Rerun Yae Miko

Yae Miko is a 5-star Electro character in Genshin Impact and the second Electro character to use a Catalyst after Lisa, one of the characters available in the game at launch and free to all Genshin Impact players. Yae Miko's Banner Everbloom Violet was released in the first half of the game's 2.5 update, ahead of Raiden Shogun and Kokomi double rerun banners. As Yae Miko's banner debuted so recently, it's likely players will have to wait a while longer before they get another chance to pull for Genshin Impact's resident kitsune Yae Miko.

Genshin Impact's Shenhe Deserves A Rerun Of Her Banner

Genshin Impact Characters That Have Never Had A Rerun Shenhe

Shenhe is Genshin Impact's most recently added Cryo playable character, who arrived in the game's 2.4 update with her Banner The Transcendent One Returns. Shenhe was released alongside a new 4-star Geo character, Yun Jin. If recent Genshin Impact leaks are accurate, Shenhe won't be getting a rerun in Version 2.8. However, a Shenhe rerun banner in Version 2.9 isn't out of the question, as a wait time of five updates between a character's release and their first rerun is common for Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact regularly features rerun Banners for existing 5-star characters, with some characters experiencing a considerably longer wait than others between their initial release and their first rerun banner. There are currently six playable characters in Genshin Impact waiting for a rerun of their Event Wish Banner, but at least one of these characters, Arataki Itto, has a confirmed rerun arriving very soon. Kazuha has had the longest wait of any character on the list but, if the recent 2.8 update rumors are correct, Kazuha fans won't have to wait much longer before his long-overdue rerun arrives.

Several of the characters that have never had a rerun in Genshin Impact haven't been playable in the game for very long, so it could be a while before their Banners get a second shot at being featured. Genshin Impact's Yae Miko and Kamisato Ayato are two such characters, added in the recent 2.5 and 2.6 updates respectively. Unfortunately for Genshin Impact players who weren't able to obtain Ayato or Yae Miko the first time around, it's likely neither character will get a rerun before Genshin Impact's highly anticipated 3.0 update arrives, expected to bring with it the Dendro region of Sumeru.
