Among Genshin Impact’s colorful cast of characters is Albedo, an artificial human whose age is somewhat of a mystery. Genshin Impact is an action RPG with gacha elements that has been released on PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, with plans to release on Nintendo Switch. Originally released on September 28, 2020, the game has maintained global popularity with its cast of over 40 characters.
The characters in Genshin Impact don’t have defined ages as of yet, and their appearances aren’t always the best indicator of age, either. Most characters’ ages are speculated by fans based on in-game information about each person’s maturity and relations to each other. Albedo is no exception to this rule. In terms of gameplay, Albedo is a 5-star Geo character who can only be obtained from the Secretum Secretorum Character Event Wishes, of which there have only been two. The first started on December 23, 2020 when he was initially released over one year ago, and another ran from November 24 to December 14, 2021 to align with the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event. But it’s Albedo’s lore that makes guessing his age somewhat tricky. He is a synthetic human created using alchemy by the researcher Rhinedottir, who also created the shadow dragon Durin. This makes Albedo’s age in Genshin Impact especially vague, but possible to approximate thanks to characters’ descriptions of him as well as his impressions of other characters.

Thinking of Klee as a younger sister doesn’t offer much by way of guessing Albedo’s age considering how young she is, but it’s just the starting point fans have used to determine how old Albedo may be. He’s described as a “young man” who is of legal drinking age. The legal drinking age is 18 in China, where Genshin Impact’s developer miHoYo is located. All these hints combined with Albedo’s youthful appearance have led fans to speculate that he is approximately 18 years old.
Players have also guessed at the heights of Genshin Impact’s characters by comparing their in-game models to each other, and have determined Albedo is around 5’ 3” or 161 cm. Amidst all the speculation, however, two things are certain: that Albedo will remain important to Genshin Impact’s storyline, and that players can celebrate his birthday on September 13 even if his exact age is unknown.
