Almost every Genshin Impact player has the character Xiangling, and her appearance on Hu-Tao’s current re-run banner means players will be able to rack up Xiangling constellations fast if they’re pulling. Despite being a 4-Star character, Xiangling is considered an S-Tier support unit, so building her is beneficial, especially for free-to-play Genshin Impact players.

Xiangling is a 4-Star Pyro Polearm user, known across Teyvat for her incredible cooking skills and bubbly personality. Players can unlock Xiangling for free by completing Floor 3, Chamber 3 of the Spiral Abyss, making her very easy to obtain for free. Here are the weapons, artifacts, talents, and team compositions that work best for her.

Xiangling’s kit makes her a perfect off-field Sub-DPS support unit who excels in dealing consistent damage and enabling elemental reactions with other party members. Since launch, there have been multiple new weapons and artifact sets that now serve as Xiangling’s best-in-slots compared to earlier versions of the game, so players who have already invested in her may want to update parts of her build.

How to Build Xiangling in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Xiangling and Guoba

Here are all of Xiangling’s abilities in Genshin Impact and how they work:

Normal Attack: Dough-Fu

Xiangling performs up to five consecutive spear strikes. Her charge attack lunges her forward to damage enemies.

Elemental Skill: Guoba Attack

Xiangling summons Guoba the panda who continuously breathes fire to deal AoE Pyro DMG.

Elemental Burst: Pyronado

Xiangling summons a tornado of fire that swirls around the active character for a period of time, dealing Pyro DMG to all enemies it hits.

Xiangling’s most important talent is her Burst, as this is what will enable most elemental reactions while Xiangling is off the field. Players should invest in this first, followed by her Skill. Leveling up her Normal Attack isn’t necessary if Xiangling is serving as a Sub-DPS support unit.

There are multiple artifact sets that work well on Xiangling. Energy Recharge is extremely important for Xiangling, as players are going to want her Elemental Burst to be available at all times. The Emblem of Severed Fate set works great on Xiangling, as it provides a 20% Energy Recharge increase as well as a 25% increase in Elemental Burst DMG. Players can also use a two-piece Emblem of Severed Fate and a two-piece Crimson Witch of Flames to get a Pyro DMG bonus or just a full, four-piece set of Crimson Witch.

Genshin Impact Xiangling's Pyro Elemental Burst

For Xiangling's main artifact stats, players are going to want to choose an Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery Hourglass, Pyro DMG Bonus Cup, and ATK%/Crit Rate/Crit DMG Hat depending on which sub-stats they have on their artifacts. For sub-stats, players are going to want to focus on Energy Recharge, followed by as much Elemental Mastery as possible to increase the damage done by Xiangling’s Elemental reactions. Finally, ATK% and a balanced Crit Rate/DMG are important to increase DMG output.

For her weapon, players are going to want a polearm with an Energy Recharge sub-stat, which allows them to put more focus on building Elemental Mastery with her artifacts. The Catch is a great four-Star weapon for Xiangling, as it boosts her Energy Recharge and provides a DMG boost for her Elemental Burst. However, Skyward Spine, Prototype Grudge, and Dragon’s Bane are also feasible options.

For team compositions, Xiangling works well in almost any group that focuses on dealing Vaporize DMG. One of the most popular team compositions with Xiangling is known as the National Comp for its immense popularity among Chinese Meta players. This composition includes Chongyun, Xingqiu, Xiangling, and Bennet. Bennet serves as the healer, Xingqiu and Xiangling provide off-field support and Elemental reactions, and Chongyun fights as the main DPS.
