The second half of Genshin Impact's 2.7 update brought with it Kuki Shinobu, Genshin Impact's newest 4-star Electro playable character. Shinobu arrived on Arataki Itto's banner, which is unsurprising as the two characters are closely linked, serving as the Leader and Deputy Leader of Inazuma's Arataki Gang. Shinobu is attuned with Electro and wields a sword, making her the only 4-star character in Genshin Impact with this combination. Two 5-star Electro characters in the game wield swords, Keqing and the Electro Traveler.

Kuki Shinobu is well-suited to the Sub-DPS and Support roles, with the added bonus of providing healing to the party. Shinobu's Electro damage continues whether she's on or off-field, effectively applying the Electro element and triggering elemental reactions with her teammate's elements. As an Electro user, Shinobu works well alongside Genshin Impact characters attuned to Hydro or Pyro, as the two cause Electro-Charged and Overloaded reactions, dealing devastating damage to opponents.

As Kuki Shinobu can fulfill either the Support or Sub-DPS role in a Genshin Impact team, her best Artifact builds and weapon choices revolve around her being off-field most of the time. Genshin Impact players can opt for builds focused on Shinobu triggering Electro reactions in the Sub-DPS role, or healing and buffing the rest of the party in the Support role. Shinobu's versatility means players have options when it comes to good team compositions for Kuki Shinobu, depending on which of Genshin Impact's playable characters they already own.

Kuki Shinobu Best Team Builds Shinobu Gameplay

Here are the most popular team builds for Kuki Shinobu in Genshin Impact featuring her in the Sub-DPS or Healer/Support role:

  • Electro-Charged Party: Ayato/Yelan (Main DPS), Fischl (Sub-DPS), Kazuha/Sucrose (Sub-DPS), Kuki Shinobu (Healer/Support). Ayato and Yelan can be used interchangeably as the Hydro DPS in this electro-charged reaction team, with Electro Resonance thanks to Fischl. Kazuha or Sucrose can fulfill the second Sub-DPS role, using Anemo to crowd control enemies.
  • Kuki Shinobu National Team: Kuki Shinobu (Sub-DPS), Xiangling (Sub-DPS), Xingqiu (Sub-DPS), Bennett (Healer/Support). Kuki Shinobu takes over from the Raiden Shogun in the National Team, using three of Genshin Impact's best free characters. Electro-Charged and Overloaded reactions take center stage, while Bennett provides an attack buff to all members.
  • Geo-Focused Party: Itto (Main DPS), Albedo (Sub-DPS), Gorou (Support), Kuki Shinobu (Healer). This geo-led team sees Arataki Gang members fight side by side, with Gorou providing a Geo DMG and DEF bonus to his teammates. Shinobu's Elemental Burst provides healing to the team, as well as triggering Crystallize elemental reactions.

Kuki Shinobu is a welcome addition to Genshin Impact and a solid choice for players looking to add an Electro Sub-DPS or Support character to their team. However, Shinobu is yet to perform Genshin Impact's other 4-star Electro characters like Beidou and Fischl in the Sub-DPS role or Kujou Sara in the Support role. As Shinobu will likely spend a lot of time as an inactive character in the party, she works best with characters whose elements react with Electro, so they can still benefit from Shinobu's presence after she's left the fight.
