Genshin Impact’s next character is coming soon in update 1.1, and developer miHoYo is showing off her explosive abilities in a new trailer. MiHoYo has already spelled out some of the changes that will be coming to Genshin Impact later, like an expansion to its already massive map in December.

Genshin Impact’s use of gacha mechanics may be surprising to some players, as it doesn’t really fit the mold of the typical gacha game. While games like Fire Emblem Heroes add substantive gameplay on top of the random character pulling of the gacha formula, Genshin Impact may have the most robust gameplay of any gacha game. It’s entirely possible to play it as a traditional action RPG without engaging at all with its random character draws, though doing that would mean going without any of the best characters in Genshin Impact.

MihoYo recently confirmed that new character Klee is joining Genshin Impact, and now it’s showing off her skills in a new video. As the trailer shows, Klee’s cute exterior hides an affinity for fire and explosions, with her kit giving her the ability to spread fire across a huge area using bombs and other ranged attacks. And as the video also reveals, she seems to have a lot of fun doing it.

Klee’s arrival might be good news for anyone looking to add another fire user to their team to replace Amber, but her demo video is also a wakeup call to anyone who hasn’t added Venti to their team yet. In miHoYo’s previous announcement of Klee, it revealed that she will be the star of the game’s next Wish banner event, meaning that players will be more likely to find her using Genshin Impact’s limited-time draw banner. However, that’s a spot currently occupied by Venti, meaning that the wind-based archer will no longer be available through the Wish banner once Klee arrives on October 20.

Recent Genshin Impact 1.1 leaks proposed that Zhongli and Childe will be the banner characters for the update, after Klee's event ends. Genshin Impact’s launch was a massive success that took plenty of players by surprise, but its first major update will be an interesting one to watch to see how things look for the future of the breakout game.
