Alhaitham was introduced during the Archon Quests for Sumeru in Genshin Impact Version 3.0, and makes his debut as a playable character in Version 3.4. Often referred to as "Dendro Keqing" by fans due to the similarities of their Elemental Skills and Bursts, Alhaitham is the first dual-weapon character in the game, equipping both the player's chosen weapon and a permanent secondary blade. He is a Main DPS who scales off ATK & Elemental Mastery and can provide a much-needed change to team comps.

Although Alhaitham's animation leaks in Genshin Impact earned him the "Dendro Keqing" nickname before he became playable, the critical difference between the two lies in Alhaitham's Chisel-Light Mirrors. One Mirror appears every time Alhaitham uses his Elemental Skill, converting all Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to Dendro DMG. These Mirrors increase Alhaitham's DMG by producing their own Projection Attacks. His best builds work to strengthen these attacks by supporting ATK and EM.

Best Weapons & Artifacts for Alhaitham in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact's Alhaitham poses while he manipulates Dendro crystals, which bloom all around him.

Like all 5-Stars, Alhaitham's best weapon is his signature sword, Light of Foliar Incision. The sword's abilities operate on all of Alhaitham's talents, boosting the DMG of his Normal Attacks and Elemental Skill by up to 200% of EM when his Normal Attacks deal Elemental DMG. Light of Foliar Incision is a fantastic new weapon from the Genshin Impact 3.4 banner, but Alhaitham's build allows for a wide range of substitute weapons.

Freedom-Sworn boosts Alhaitham's EM and provides a team-wide boost to Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG, increasing ATK by up to 40%. Haran Geppaku Futsu can increase his Crit Rate, Elemental DMG, and Normal Attack DMG, working well due to some of Alhaitham's similarities to Kamisato Ayato. Mistsplitter Reforged also provides an incredible Elemental DMG boost.

In the realm of 4-Stars, Iron Sting can increase EM while Sapwood Blade can play with Alhaitham's Elemental Reactions to temporarily boost EM. Players who bought a Gnostic Hymn could give Alhaitham The Black Sword for an all-around DPS boost. Since Alhaitham also bears scaling similarities to Kaedehara Kazuha, he could even use Genshin Impact's Toukabou Shigure sword from Version 3.3.

Many Alhaitham builds include a two-piece Deepwood Memories set. The artifact's 15% Dendro DMG boost cannot be ignored when Alhaitham's attacks become infused with Dendro. The other two-piece set in this Genshin Impact build depends on what weapon players have equipped. If the weapon relies on EM, players could use a set that adds 80 EM (Wanderer's Troupe, Glided Dreams, Flower of Paradise Lost). If the weapon boosts ATK, that Artifact set could be one with an 18% ATK boost (Gladiator's Finale, Shimenawa's Reminiscence, Vermillion Hereafter, Echoes of an Offering).

If players want a four-piece artifact set for their Alhaitham build, Genshin Impact's Echoes of an Offering Artifact set is one of the best. The Artifact was built for characters like Kamisato Ayato who rely on Normal Attacks. Alhaitham can get a 70% of ATK increase to his Normal Attacks when the set triggers. Since Alhaitham doesn't rely on his Elemental Burst, he could also use a four-piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence set, boosting his Normal/Charged/Plunging Attacks by 50% after an Elemental Skill at the cost of Energy.

When deciding the best stats to focus on with each artifact, players must examine their current balance of EM and ATK. Their goblet or timepiece could focus on either stat, although it is better for the goblet to increase Dendro DMG. The crown should boost either Crit DMG or Crit Rate, as with most characters. Since players get a lot of bad artifacts in Genshin Impact, they may have to use an EM or ATK crown until they get the right stat in the right set. The great part about building Alhaitham is that he is highly adaptable for players of all types, making him a fun addition to Genshin Impact.
