Genshin Impact’s developer HoYoverse is offering 800 free Primogems for its players for a limited time in December. These items are a certain boon since they allow Intertwined Wishes to be acquired in the in-game store and, therefore, used for trying to pull 5-star characters featured in increased chances banners in the gacha system. Considering update 3.3’s characters, this comes as an early Christmas present for fans looking forward to adding Arataki Itto, Shogun Raiden, Kamisato Ayato, or even the coveted Wanderer to their roster.
The 800 free Primogems come as HoYoverse’s way of thanking players after Genshin Impact won the Players’ Voice award at TGA 2022, where Elden Ring took the Game of the Year award home. Although it did not win the awards, Genshin was also nominated for the Best Mobile Game and Best Ongoing awards. These victories were conceded to the card game Marvel Snap and Final Fantasy XIV.

The in-game prize will be issued to all players, independent of their Adventure Rank and story progress. The items will be given out gradually, with 200 Primogems sent to the players’ in-game mail every day from December 10 to December 13. Considering every Intertwined Wish and Acquaint Wish costs 160 Primogems to buy in Genshin Impact’s store, HoYoverse’s celebratory bonus will result in exactly five wishes. During the first half of Genshin Impact 3.3, Wanderer seems to be the most popular character between him and Arataki Itto, who share disputing banners in the gacha. The Anemo character is an absolute powerhouse and capable of inflicting a massive amount of Swirl Damage, beyond being very versatile. Players who have already pulled him will be searching for the best team comps for Wanderer, and might use the 800 free Primogems to pull for Itto. Of course, another option is to save up for future banners, be them reruns in 3.3 or the ones planned for Genshin Impact 3.4.
