Genshin Impact's Version 3.1 update introduces two new 5-star characters, Cyno a scholar from the Sumeru Akademiya, and Nilou, a performer of the Zubayr Theater. Hoyoverse officially confirmed that Cyno will be released during the first half of the 3.1 updates along with the Anemo Archon Venti. The Banners will also feature other characters like Shinobu, Sayu, and Candace, a new 4-star heroine.

Cyno in Genshin Impact is an Electro polearm user who specializes in using his Elemental Burst to enter an offensive state, similar to Xiao and Arataki Itto. He primarily focuses on inflicting high damage with Electro reactions, specifically Catalyze reactions, which are a combination of infusing Dendro and Electro elements on enemies. Cyno's role within a team is to be the main DPS and Hypercarry since his Elemental Burst will force Cyno to remain active the longest.

Venti wields a bow and uses the Anemo element in battle. He is best used as a sub-DPS within a team and excels in enemy crowd control. His Elemental Burst Talent will suck mobs of enemies into a focused area, which will deal significant damage to all targets within the AOE. To further increase Venti's damage, players will need to infuse different elements to utilize Swirl Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 3.1 Banners Is Cyno or Venti Better

Cyno will be a strong character to use for players looking for a reliable on-filed DPS. His attacks cover a wide range making him perfect for boss battles and when fighting challenging groups of enemies. Cyno's Elemental Burst duration will last 18 seconds, which is quite long when compared to similar characters, and will allow him to continue his attacks for an extended time. Cyno's main issue would be his high Energy requirements for his Elemental Burst. If players cannot consistently use his Burst Talent in battle, then Cyno's performance will drastically drop.

Venti's greatest strength is his utility in battle as he is the best crowd control character in the game. Venti's Elemental Skill is also a great tool to use for exploring the open world in Genshin Impact as the Talent can propel characters upwards, making the skill useful for climbing cliffs. Players should equip the Viridescent Venerer artifacts onto Venti, which will allow him to decrease the Elemental Resistance of enemies allowing characters to deal more damage. Venti's biggest weakness is that enemies not sucked into his Elemental Burst will render his ability useless. The Talent can also lift enemies out of some allies' attack range, which will limit team flexibility.

Players should consider pulling for Cyno if a DPS character is needed, but if fans are looking for a 5-star who excels in utility, then Venti is considered one of the best heroes to pull for. Saving Primogems is another option since Nilou will be released during the second half of the update along with Albedo. Genshin Impact characters like Nahida and Layla were also recently announced, so saving for upcoming Banners could be beneficial.
