Genshin Impact 2.7 has just recently released, with Yelan, the upcoming Kuki Shinobu, and the Perilous Trail event as headliners. However, there have already been many leaks coming from the community about the next patch, Genshin Impact 2.8.
Leaks come from various sources in Genshin Impact's community, but many of them come from insiders and beta testers. There are some leakers who are known as "reliable" and consistently give out information that turns out to be mostly correct in regards to Genshin Impact's future. That being said, it's important to treat these leaks as unverified until HoYoverse officially confirms any of the content - it's impossible to know with certainty before then, and plans do change sometimes, also.
Some have claimed that Genshin Impact 2.8 will be the last patch before Genshin Impact 3.0, which would mean that Sumeru might be in Genshin Impact's near future. Other things like character reruns and skins have been leaked for Genshin Impact 2.8, along with a returning area that will definitely excite players.
Genshin Impact 2.8's Leaked Character Banners
Both the first and second Genshin Impact 2.8 banners have been leaked. The first half of 2.8 will allegedly feature a Klee rerun, while also have featuring leaked character Shikanoin Heizou as one of the 4-stars on her Banner. Klee will be the only featured Banner of the first half of Genshin Impact 2.8, and it will be Klee's third Featured Banner, her most recent one being in June of 2021.
The second half of Genshim Impact 2.8 will reportedly have two concurrent rerun banners: Kazuha and Yoimiya. Kazuha has been an immensely desirable character since his first Featured Banner, and some predict that HoYoverse has intentionally put Kazuha right before Sumeru's release to get players to spend their Primogems in Genshin Impact for this desirable character ahead of the influx of new content and playable additions from the region.
Two Genshin Impact Characters Will Be Getting A Skin In Patch 2.8
Two new skins have been leaked for some time now, and will reportedly debut in Genshin Impact 2.8 - one for Diluc and one for Fischl. Diluc's skin, like the previous 5-star skins, will be purchasable with Genesis Crystals, while Fischl's skin will be the big reward for the new event that will be released with Patch 2.8. The name of Diluc's skin is "Red Dead of Night," and the name of Fischl's skin is "Ein Immernachtstraum," which is German and translates to "Midsummer Night's Dream," the famous Shakespeare play.
While no models or official art for these skins have been leaked, Fischl's skin in Genshin Impact has been described as a dress with big poofy sleeves similar to a traditional style, and Diluc's skin will reportedly have its own unique idle and other animations, which may result in this skin having a higher price tag than others.
The Golden Apple Archipelago Will Be Returning In Genshin Impact 2.8
The Golden Apple Archipelago has been leaked to be returning alongside Patch 2.8 and will be the main site of a huge event, similar to the Golden Apple Archipelago's first debut in Genshin Impact 1.6. This event will be very similar to the first one in scale and level of rewards, and the Golden Apple Archipelago islands have apparently been reworked to be completely new places to explore, including some type of castle and Domain. The Fischl skin is also allegedly the big reward from this event, which will be traded for with currency obtained from the event activities like Barbara's skin was when it was an event reward. The Golden Apple Archipelago will also apparently become a permanent addition to Genshin Impact, meaning that, unlike the islands' first debut, they won't be removed from the game after Version 2.8 is over.
Several Quality Of Life Updates Are Coming To Genshin Impact
There have been a couple of quality of life updates that have been spoiled for Genshin Impact, which may even be as early as Patch 2.8. It is no secret that Genshin Impact is a huge game, having a massive file size and an update to match with every patch. HoYoverse intends to help fix this big issue by giving players the opportunity to uninstall voice lines, cutscenes, and quest data that the player has already completed. This would likely be a huge aid in cutting down how much space Genshin Impact takes up on a player's device, as many players already struggle with Genshin Impact's file size, especially on mobile.
A smaller quality of life update that might be in Genshin Impact's future is that when enemies drop materials, the player will be able to pick up items of the same kind in one stack instead of needing to spam the pickup button. This will make so there are a lot less items to pick up all over the ground. While this is a minor quality of life update for Genshin Impact, it will help out in dealing with a large group of enemies like Hilichurls.
Genshin Impact 2.8 Is Giving Out A Free 4-Star Weapon
Another leak for Genshin Impact 2.8 is that players will be able to receive another free 4-star weapon, like Genshin Impact 2.7's Fading Twilight Bow. This free weapon is a 4-star sword with the somewhat humorous placeholder name "This Is A Sword," and the model for it has been leaked. It is a bright red sword that matches really well with Kazuha's color scheme, supporting the leak that Kazuha will be receiving a rerun in the latter half of Patch 2.8. This Is A Sword has an ATK main stat, and its leaked passive reads as follows: "When a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack hits an opponent, it will whip up a Hewing Gale, dealing AoE DMG equal to 180% of ATK and increasing ATK by 15% for 8s. This effect can be triggered once every 8s." So while this sword matches Kazuha aesthetically, it is definitely not the best choice for building Kazuha in Genshin Impact, as he generally wants to be stacked with as much Elemental Mastery as possible.
Genshin Impact 2.8 is becoming as hyped and exciting as Version 1.6 was with the first debut of the Golden Apple Archipelago. More and more Genshin Impact 2.8 leaks will be surfacing as it gets closer to its release, and barring any further delays, it won't be long before players have an official statement from HoYoverse about what to expect in the future.
