Recent leaks suggest the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream will be happening later in May, and it's giving eager fans hope that new content may be arriving soon. Originally, the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream was set to air on April 29, but the Special Program broadcast was delayed because of COVID-related lockdown measures in Shanghai. Presently, there's no official word on when the livestream - and its ensuing update - will actually happen, but the latest leaks suggest the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream release date could be happening sooner than previously thought.
Typically, Genshin Impact livestreams occur about a week and a half ahead of its scheduled Version update. Since the game's launch, HoYoverse has stuck closely to a six-week schedule, which has been great for fans, since it always means new content to look forward to. Rumors of a Version 2.7 postponement were numerous ahead of time, and it was little surprise when HoYoverse confirmed that Genshin Impact 2.7 would be delayed until further notice. Since then, the company has announced weekly compensation of free Primogems and other useful items until the next update arrives. It's a nice consolation, but it still means there's a bit of a content drought right now.

New in-game events are set to run through June, which led to rumors that the update would be postponed for at least a month. According to the latest alleged leaks, the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream will occur on or around May 20, 2022. Livestreams usually happen on Friday mornings, so this date makes sense, and that would mean the delay only lasted around 3 weeks.
It may be easy to dismiss these leaks and rumors as wishful thinking, but the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's leaks have typically been pretty reliable. And, even before Version 2.7 was officially postponed, leakers had pointed at May 20, 2022, being the most likely new release date for the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream. At the time of this writing, there's no official word from HoYoverse regarding the Special Program broadcast, but if it is May 20, then an announcement probably won't be made until a few days before, possibly on Wednesday, May 18.
